Orphans Sponsorship's - The mercy project

Our orphan projects are designed with the ethos of the prophetic practice in mind. The prophet Muhammad pbuh was a beacon of light and shaped the sahaba by nurturing them. We at Bir Ummet are against handing out cash sponsorships only. This is the easy work that most organisations do but this doesn't really help orphans in the long term it is just a temporary relief. Our aims are far bigger which are to try and teach the orphans the necessary skills they need to become active members of society.

All of our orphan sponsorships are conditional. Each orphan must complete either an activity programme or educational course to ensure they receive their sponsorship's. This is to benefit the orphans long term and not just for the short term.

Standard Orphan sponsorship:

£40 per month. £480 per year.
This covers a cash sponsorship and the cost of the weekly activity programme. Each week the child has activities which are based in their local masjids. These activities cover, quran general Islamic knowledge, hygiene and well being and other social activities. All geared at building the orphans character and confidence.

The donor will receive feedback twice in the year. A written profile at the beginning and end of the year.

My orphan leadership programme:

£80 per month or 960 for the whole year.
This is a one of a kind orphan sponsorship programme. It follows the sunnah of the prophet pbuh in trying to give proper sound tarbiyyah. Giving cash donations are not enough to ensure a good uprbringing. The my orphan team work hard to fill the void of missing parents.

The orphans follow a well structured after school programme that was designed by professionals in the field. The programme is designed to bring the best out of each orphan. Building confidence, character and knowledge.

Each week our orphans take the following lessons:

1. Quran
2. English

3. Computing

4. Horse riding or Karate ( Choice based )

5. Counselling sessions

The donor receives a written profile at the beginning and the end of the year and personalized quarterly feedback videos from their orphan direct to them.

This is a project like no other and you will have the opportunity to bond with and to get to know your child on a personal level.

Nine years of war in Syria have devastated the country leaving behind a trail of destruction and death.  

Six million people are currently trapped in Idlib, which day by day becomes smaller and smaller.

Most people live under the poverty line and surviving is difficult. The winter is harsh and the summer is scorching and it is made all the more difficult when all that protects you is a thin tent.

Our teams have been on the ground assisting the Syrian people since 2012.

The reality is most charities raise hundreds of thousands for Syria but unfortunately, most of that is spent outside of its borders. 

Our brave team alongside many volunteers work hard to deliver your Amanah inside Syria and to those who need it the most.

This Ramadan we will be fundraising on 3 main campaigns:

1/2 Shares and 1/4 shares for economy homes may also be purchased.

Each economy home consists of two bedrooms a bathroom and a small kitchen. Complete with sewage infrastructure, water tank and plumbing.

WE HAVE ALREADY STARTED......

As we are on the ground, we have already started building emergency homes that save the families who are the most destitute like the ones you have seen in our Ramadan stories feature.

For each family, we build an emergency home-sized 36 square meters contains a kitchen, toilet and 2 bedrooms.

The emergency homes provide a decent housing solution for displaced people instead of tents in a manner that preserves their dignity. The cost of creating and building these economy homes is minimal and only slightly more expensive then tent alternatives.
