About the IIA (International Islamic Academy)

The IIA (International Islamic Academy) is one of the oldest Islamic schools in the Detroit metro area that provide quality full-time program for around 160 students in the Dearborn-Detroit community. 

Formerly known as "Dar Al Arqam" and "Al-Ihsan Academy", It has been consistent throughout the past twenty years in supporting the community with high quality teachers in all subjects, family-like environment, and Islamic / Arabic language programs for the students..

Who are we?

We are a group of dedicated members of the PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) for the school. We treat every stakeholder in the school (teachers, parents, students, volunteers, donors) as a member of our big family. 

Where is Your Money going?

This project aims at starting the first Waqf project by using the funds in a commercial real estate project. This will create a small but sustainable income to cover the school expenses.

The average cost of education per student in the US Public School system is ~$10,700; Private Islamic Schools charge around ~4,000 so you can easily tell how big the deficit is, per child... This project insha Allah will be a small but needed step in making a long term impact on the funding challenges of Islamic schools
