In Loving Memory – Shaeeb Hussain

Thank you for visiting our LaunchGood page in honour of the late and dearly beloved Shaeeb Hussain.

It’s rare to encounter a beautiful soul like Shaeeb. He possessed a warm, incandescent soul. Wherever he went, he shed joy and imparted open-handed generosity, lighting up every gathering with his unmistakable presence. Friends and family so dearly miss his effortless radiance and refreshing smile.

Shaeeb is survived by his wife and his two beautiful young sons. Though he may have moved onto the hereafter, he has left us with the indelible gift of his kind and compassionate nature. Thus, in loving memory of Shaeeb, we’ve made this page in the hopes that we might bolster his beneficence and emulate something of his goodness.

Given the overwhelming response from our many generous donors that have allowed us to meet and exceed our original target & completing the fundraising for the water filtration plant, we will be extending this campaign to include a second initiative. See details of Project 2 below.

Project 2: A New Home from Shaeeb

£3,000 – FUNDRAISING ONGOING

Our Aim: A New Home for a Surviving Family in the Türkiye/Syria Earthquake-Aftermath

Following a series of devastating earthquakes that have claimed the lives of over 50,000 people and left many more injured across Southern Türkiye & North-west Syria, there is a desperate need to rebuild. More than 50,000 buildings, including schools & hospitals were destroyed or badly damaged in one of the most catastrophic earthquakes in recent history.

A New Home From Shaeeb aims to sponsor the building of a home within a significant new development in Northern Syria, for a displaced family of survivors. Many of these survivors are currently living through insufferable, inadequate and unsustainable conditions within over-stretched & under-equipped relief camps, often in makeshift shelters or out in the open.

A new home will not only provide shelter and security, the vision of the wider development that the home will be within is to establish new communities and provide a new life for many families whose lives have been completely derailed.

There are many Hadith emphasising the virtues of Al-Shaam and it’s people. We pray that by building a home / homes for our brothers and sisters in these blessed lands, that we may be so fortunate to have a house built for us in Jannah.

Project 1: Clean Water from Shaeeb

£12,200, 100% of FUNDRAISING COMPLETE

Our Aim: A Water Filtration Plant in Flood-Affected Regions of Pakistan

Devastating rainfall and severe flash flooding have critically impacted Pakistan — particularly the southern regions of Sindh and Baluchistan. Thousands of lives have been lost, and over 6 million men, women, and children are in desperate need of aid after what has been referred to as a ‘climate catastrophe’.

“When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.” (Muslim)

Clean Water From Shaeeb is a massive project that aims to provide 1,000 litres per hour (lph) of safe drinking water to some of the most adversely affected communities and serves as sadaqah Jaariyah — i.e., continuing charity — and ongoing reward for those who donate.

More about the Project

This initiative can potentially change the lives of up to 90,000 people in a village in Sindh, Pakistan, where victims cannot access safe drinking water. Flood-affected families have no choice but to consume contaminated water, leaving them dangerously susceptible to water and vector-borne diseases. This issue is further compounded by the fact that many in flood relief camps or local communities have little or no access to basic medical care.

A water filtration plant will provide on-site, filtered, safe drinking water to those living within marginalised villages of the worst affected regions. Not only will this prevent the spread of disease and ultimately save lives, but it will also provide a more hygienic and safer environment, offering increased dignity for side-lined Pakistanis who have gone through a great deal of hardship.

We humbly request that you dig deep and contribute to this excellent sadaqah jaariyah project and ease the suffering of thousands of people. Be like Shaeeb and replenish others by spreading love, kindness and generosity!
