Sahra is the Somali name for a flower.
Sahra's legacy will not end in her being buried - rather she has been planted and her death will be the seed that blooms into the flower that will bear the fruit of help, to support others living or fleeing domestic violence.

Our hearts are heavy with grief as we remember and honour the life of our beloved, Sahra Bulle. With profound sadness, we reflect on the beautiful soul we lost to the unfathomable act of violence. The pain of her absence is magnified by the senselessness of her untimely departure from this world. 

Sahra Bulle was a remarkable individual known for her boundless kindness and unwavering loyalty. She possessed a rare strength and had a heart overflowing with love. Her innate caregiving nature brought comfort and solace to those around her. She was a beacon of light in our lives, illuminating the path with unwavering compassion. 

In the face of adversity, she displayed tremendous courage making every effort to extricate herself from an abusive relationship. It’s a testament to her strength and resilience that she dared to escape the darkness, striving to create a safer future. 

Unfortunately, Sahra’s life was tragically cut short by the unimaginable act of violence at the hands of a person she loved so deeply. 

As we face the immense loss we endured, we find solace in the memories we shared with Sahra. Her unwavering love for her family and genuine kindness will resonate in our hearts. We carry her spirit within us, holding onto the lessons she taught us about love, compassion, and the importance of standing up against injustice. 

While we navigate the depths of sorrow and grapple with the injustice that stole Sahra from us, we must also honour her memory. Let us unite as a community, raising awareness about the devastating impact of domestic violence and advocating for change. May her tragic story inspire others to break free from the chains of abuse and seek help, ensuring that no other woman suffers a similar fate.

On May 26th, 2023, Sahra Bulle informed her mother that she will be leaving work shortly - and no one has seen her since. The Windsor Police alongside the OPP, friends, and family scoured the city of Windsor in search of Sahra Bulle. For two whole weeks [14 days] everyone tried to find Sahra Bulle. 

On June 3rd, Fartumo Kusow posted a reel on Facebook as a cry for help for anyone who saw Sahra to please notify law enforcement.

Unfortunately on June 8th , 2023, the search for Sahra Bulle came to a tragic end when they found her body confirming that Sahra Bulle was a victim of femicide.

With the permission of the mother of Sahra Bulle and her family, a campaign was started here on the LaunchGood platform to help raise funds for sadaqah jaariyah [continuous charity] for causes that were near and dear to Sahra Bulle and to raise awareness on the realities of Domestic Violence.
