Update on our Capital Campaign and Transition.

Dear II&M Stakeholders and Supporters,

We pray that this letter reaches you in the best of health and faith. I wanted to reach out once again on behalf of the Initiative on Islam and Medicine (II&M) to thank you for your support over the years. Without you, II&M would not be able to carry out innovative Muslim health research, educate clinicians, students, and community members in Islamic bioethics, nor would we be able to convene workshops and conferences on Islam and biomedicine.

Our Launchgood Dhul-Hijjah campaign, meant to provide the support needed to launch our independent non-profit, closed on August 1st and alhamdulillah we raised a total of $16,095 from 315 donors. This amounts to about 40% of our overall fundraising goal which would have supported a part-time employee to manage II&M communications and programs. In the coming weeks and months, we will continue to seek out supporters and donations to help fill this funding gap. To that end, we have setup a PayPal account to which you can donate directly: paypal.me/islamandmedicine.

As part of our new non-profit we created four videos to highlight our contributions and market our innovative work. We also created a testimonial page to show our connectivity with scholars, activists and academics.  Please help grow our circle by sharing these materials in your networks and following us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

The II&M is incredibly grateful for your support. Your contribution is an investment in an institution that aims to facilitate knowledge for our ummah and subsequently a sadaqah jariya.

Best,

II&M Team
