Facing violence, forced displacement and often separated from their families, Iraq’s children are living in fear. As their infrastructures crumbles, children in Iraq lose access to health, education and basic services, while their chances and hopes for a bright future dim.

The humanitarian crisis is affecting children and families in Iraq. In fact, it’s estimated that 1 in 3 children require humanitarian aid. The Kurdistan Region of Iraq is currently home to hundreds of thousands of refugees and internally displaced families, who have fled the violence across Iraq and Syria. Children in Iraq have often witnessed or experienced violence, and left their homes in terrifying circumstances. Many now face hot summers and freezing winters living in tents, half built apartment blocks and public buildings. Onsur is in Iraq providing essential goods to families, such as water and hygiene kits, as well as building sanitation facilities and running child friendly spaces and education classes.
