WHO WE ARE?

GMI is a national Islamic youth association since 2001, a reference association for young Muslims born or raised in Italy.

We have been engaged for 20 years in promoting the education and commitment of young Muslims in Italy.

A network of 17 local realities active on the territory in 17 different cities. GMI is committed to defending and promoting the rights of Muslims in Italy at the highest institutional levels. In the last 20 years, we have helped thousands of young Muslims in Italy to lead the work of advocacy at local and national level helping them in their personal growth.

Since its first day, our association has been an important piece and an added value in the lives of all the youth who have been lucky enough to meet, know and be part of it.

This extraordinary association has had and still has an impact on our relationship with God, on our knowledge, on our skills and above all on our identity as part of a community of young Italian Muslims.

Today, young Muslims in Italy number between 100,000 and 250,000, and those that GMI has managed to reach and involve are about 3,000, or 3%. Our goal is to reach all these young people in order to convey our message to them and involve them in our activities, trying to create a community of conscious and active young people who live in a non-Muslim European context of life, in order to have a strong impact in the community and society in general.​

GMI'S GOALS FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS ARE:

• To become a strong network of young Muslims in cities throughout Italy That will extend from Bolzano to Catania, from Turin to Trieste.

• To support young Muslims and help them in projects and events.

• To include them, make them active, make them live in a stimulating environment and create for them a rich and diversified offer of activities in the North, in the Center and in the South.

• Defending the rights of young Muslims at institutional tables, challenging Islamophobia, organizing awareness campaigns.

• Organize a series of events where young people can meet, confront each other, learn and work for the benefit of the community.

• Support our local realities currently present and to create new ones to be more and more present in the national territory.

WHAT WILL YOUR DONATIONS SUPPORT?

1. To guarantee different Islamic paths to young Muslims in Italy.

2. Allowing our young people experiences abroad (e.g. da'wah courses, exchanges with other organizations in European countries).

3. To be in the forefront to defend human rights and to bring forward the youth voice of the Islamic community.

4. Support the economy of existing sections and the emergence of new ones.

5. To organize GMI events such as Conventions, Camps, Meetings of sections located from North to South.

6. To involve as many young Muslims as possible throughout Italy.

7. To offer spiritual and technical training courses and educational activities.

8. A tour in Italy in which we visit every local reality and provide training to local leaders.

9. Create collaborations and strengthen the relationship with mosques, Islamic and other associations.

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
