We started our work in 2018 and have since formed strong roots in the Barking and Dagenham area. You can join our cause this Ramadan by donating, spreading the word, or keeping us in your du’as!
What we do
Tawhid Foundation sponsors the Islamic education of students without the financial means to otherwise attend madrasah, including children of single-parents, new migrants, and low-income families. This allows these children to receive the Islamic education all Muslims should to engage in deen and form the spiritual foundations for their future. We are the first institution to award means-based scholarships for madrasah schooling, currently funding 25 students.
We also train teachers in the delivery of Islamic syllabi and award them their Ijaaza qualification to teach Qur’an. Our teachers develop their own Islamic knowledge and contemporary teaching methods, as part of our aim to put out high quality Islamic educators into the Ummah.
We run a specialised programme for Muslim Youth that aims to inspire and engage young people, and expand a range of interpersonal and hands-on skills through activity-based sessions including camping and educational retreats. This programme gives young people the opportunity to develop their strengths and passions, and provides them with a platform to direct these in a positive way.
Lastly, we support children with Special Educational Needs at madrasah, providing the help and resources so that all their needs are met. Supporting them holistically allows them to receive their Islamic education alongside their peers. Currently we support 4 students with specialised needs and many more in the future if Allah wills.
What we believe
We believe all Muslims should experience an enriching and fruitful Islamic learning experience within an environment of enthusiasm and love for learning and deen, regardless of the challenges to their access. It is our duty to raise the next generation of our Ummah.
The Tawhid Academy syllabus is a tailored curriculum comprised of a balance of Quran, Tajweed, Hifdh, Arabic language and Islamic Studies, with the focus of nurturing within our children true Islamic characteristics and values. We hope for Muslim Youth to always be eager to seek knowledge throughout their lives and be conscious of the positive impact of their actions on others and society.
How you can help
Your generous donations this Ramadan will be a form of Sadaqah Jariyah for you and a means to attain Allah’s pleasure. By helping a child to learn Qur’an, you will be rewarded every time he recites. By helping a teacher, you will be rewarded for each child they teach. May Allah reward you in abundance and shower you with his Mercy and Favour.
What our parents say
“I am a parent of two children aged 8 and 14. Unfortunately due to financial difficulties I was not able to send my children to madrasah, but as a parent I always wanted my kids to be able to get their Islamic education. Alhamdulillah, for the last three years, Tawhid Foundation has been sponsoring my children and my kids have been to attend madrasah. I am very grateful as this has made a big impact on my family, their free education from Tawhid Foundation means I am able to meet my family’s other financial needs and I feel I am able to fulfil my duty of sending my kids to madrasah. May Allah put Barakat in all their good work and reward them immensely Ameen”.
The Annual Boat Race is an event which has been established by the Al-Noor Foundation in the Summer of 2018, at Fairlop Waters in the London Borough of Redbridge. The next event takes place this year on the 18th & 19th of June 2022, Inshaa’Allah.
The event is open to all schools, faith groups, charities and corporate organisations. The event aims to unite the community whereby individuals, families and organisations have the opportunity to raise money for charitable causes which are close to their hearts, by simply registering for a boat and participating in the race.
Boat races are part of the great heritage of British culture and an amazing way to unite both competitors and communities together behind a common cause. Dragon Boat racing is something which is growing in popularity in the UK, originating from Southern China’s Guangdong Province.
The boats we will be using can accommodate up to 17 riders at a time and will be provided by a specialist Dragon Boat company which the Foundation has partnered up with to run the event.
