Asalaam Alaikum!

About three years ago, our son and brother Mohammad Safiullah suddenly passed away. Mohammad Safiullah was raised around MCMC, the community and his family. He was the best type of son one could have. He was very humble and loving especially towards his mother, grandmother and his sisters. He had a very gentle heart and was always willing to help those who were in need. May Allah swt shower Mohammad with His boundless mercy and surround Mohammad with his Rasool slawl, his itraat/family, his ashaab, awlia, saliheen, anbia, shohada and moqarabeen! May Allah swt forgive his sins, shortcomings, and convert them to hasanat! Ya rab taqabal dua.

With Allah swt’s decree of a relatively short life for marhoom Mohammad, we accept His decree, but as his father, as parents, and as members of his family, we are trying to establish ways for Mohammad’s sadaqah jariyah. The Safiullah family has since started a charity in his name & honor, which has been making tremendous strides for relief & assistance in the United States, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Malawi, and Saudi Arabia. 

Some of the projects we have been working on are as follows:

1. Creating water wells in villages where water is not easily accessible
2. Feeding the less fortunate who are homeless, day laborers, those who are in shelters, those who stay in parks, those who come to the mosques needing food and those who are in temporary shelters.
3. Another initiative we have set up is giving small chicken nesting cages for poor families, in which the chickens provide organic eggs that they can use to self sustain or even sell. It runs in a profit for these families, so they don’t have to be out on the streets looking for money. Alhamdulillah we have provided chickens to hundreds of families over the last 18 months.
4. We will also be starting a skill development program this year where sisters will be getting 6 months of training on how to tailor clothes so they can start their own business and have a fixed income in the long run.
5. Our long term project is building an orphanage and getting it up and running. As of right now prices for land have went up significantally so we will need some extra time and funds for this project.

Zakat funds will be exclusively spent towards feeding and assisting the needy.

In conclusion, we are trying our best to do great work in honor of Mohammad Safiullah and we hope you can be part of our journey! Please keep Mohammad Safiullah in your Duas during this blessed month of Ramadan.

Previous Donation Campaign Efforts:

As we continue to have a donation drive every Ramadan, it is important to provide an update on where funds from last years campaign have gone to. Here are some areas where your generous donations have gone to:

We have spent around 

1. $5,000+ on water wells in 3 villages across Africa and Asia (2 in Afghanistan, 1 in Malawi).
2. $25,000+ on food distribution in USA (NJ & NYC), Pakistan (Peshawar area), and Afghanistan (Jalalabad area).
3. $25,000+ on educational necessities/skills development programs.
4. $30,000+ on our chicken nesting project.
5. $50,000+ on collection for all projects related to Orphans & others in extreme poverty.

With these numbers in mind, we are looking to increase allocated funds to all areas by about 20%, and increase food distribution by about 50%. With ambitious efforts like these, we are looking to generous donors like you to help out any way you can!
