Sabah is on high alert!

The third-wave of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has spike up more than what we have been facing before. This virus outbreak has affected most of community in Malaysia, especially in Sabah which recorded most of the cases everyday. Some places in Sabah has been forced into Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) and the community are pressed with hard time while making their lives due to restrictions enforced by government following the risks that comes with covid-19 pandemic. 

Why Lahad Datu? 

Lahad Datu is one of the red-zone district which was enforced with Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO). During this hard time, there are communities who are struggling to keep their lives going on in Lahad Datu. They are low-income families, refugees, underprivileged and stateless community who calling out for our help. 

The most affected community group are the stateless community. As of October 26th, 537 cases reported in Lahad Datu district which mostly involved stateless community. With the limited assistances, the stateless community in Sabah keep yearning for our helps for their upcoming days.   

Therefore, GERAK Malaysia in collaboration with Outbox Malaysia are making an initiative to launch Kempen PANIK Lahad Datu Covid-19 for IMMEDIATE relief. This campaign aimed to help stateless communities in Lahad Datu who had a limited assistance in term of basic needs and medical aids delivered to them. Our community target are community who lives in Kampung Sharip and Kampung Pulau Sharip which the distribution will involve 200 stateless families.
