The MANB Masjid in Saint John, New Brunswick was built in 1985 by the Muslim Association of New Brunswick, the first ever masjid of its kind in the Atlantic Canada. It  was entirely funded and executed by the relatively small Saint John Muslim Community, with some contributions made by the Muslims in the Maritimes and Ontario. Almost 40 years later, the Muslim community in Saint John has grown exponentially, which means a bigger masjid is needed in order to meet the requirements of our present and future generations.

In our first Campaign, we raised funds to build an extension to the prayer halls and community rooms. We were successfully able to raise the required funds of $150,000 and the work on the project commenced earlier this year. The outer structure has been completed and the internal renovations are being worked on. 

In this campaign, our objective is to raise the funds so we can bring the existing mosque building up to the current fire code. This was a requirement levied on us by the Provincial Fire Marshall when we applied for the extension of the building. 

The funds raised will be used to upgrade the Existing Men's prayer Hall, the existing Basement Community rooms, the existing Ladies' Prayer Hall and upgrade entrance to existing Ladies' Prayer Hall. The funds will also be used to pay for permits and any consultancy fee required by the Fire Marshall's order. 

The estimated cost to achieve this  is $125,000.
