Markazi Masjid in Christian Street, East London urgently require £100,000 by 15th July 2020 to start Major works. 

Phase One

Markazi Masjid has been serving the community since the 1980s. This is the first time in 40 years the Masjid has appealed to the community for its support.

 We have always relied on generous well-wishers who have helped us maintain the masjid for years. 

We now need £100,000 to start major works to the masjid.

Why does Markazi Masjid need to carry out major works?

• Replacing Fire Exit

The existing fire exit needs to be fully replaced, to make it safer for those who are using the masjid for worship. Seeking new planning for enclosed stairways 

• Roof

There are constant leaks during rainfall due to the flat roof structure. This has now become a regular problem for the masjid. Leaks further damager the mosques internal structure. This necessitates the installation of a mansard roof which opens up the opportunity to build classrooms, Musallah, spaces for other activities and minarets in the future. We have already achieved planning permission to start the works 

• Toilet & Wudhu Area

Cleanliness and adequate wudhu areas are integral to any masjid. The toilet and wudu area needs to be replaced with more clean and comfortable facilities.
