About Dar Al Taqwa:

• Dar Al Taqwa is a non-profitable registered organization in Japan since 2020. It is located in Ojima, Kōtō-ku, Tokyo. Before registration, we were known as Ojima Musallah(2014-2020).
• We started with a small group of 5~7 families forming a Mussallah in 2014. As time passed by, new families started joining our community and it gradually increased to 50+ families (150+ members) in 2020. There is a need to meet the demand of teaching Quran for the kids, conducting daily prayers, promoting Islamic cultural activities in and around the area that we live in.
• The population of foreigners in Koto including Muslims from various countries is growing every year. The current population of Muslims in Koto ward, Ojima area is around 60+ families.

Objective:

• To establish a permanent building for masjid & promoting cultural activities for Muslim community in Ojima, Kōtō-ku, Tokyo.
• To provide efficient service and da’wah for Muslims and non-Muslims.
• To find supports & sponsorships as well as donations from other organizations and the public locally and internationally to build the first Masjid in koto ward.

REASONS For Permanent Building:

• Population of Muslims in Ojima area increases gradually every year and the growth is likely to continue despite various factors. Currently, there are about 150 Muslims/50 + families in and around Ojima area.
• Our current facility can only support prayers up to 45+ members.
• Recent conversations about Islam in media mass have developed interest among Japanese society. A strong demand for a masjid is necessary to strengthen da’wah activities as well as Islamic culture information centre in Koto City.
• The operation and rent cost for Masjid on monthly basis comes to 1,50,000 + JPY(1300 USD) which we want to eradicate and use it for better improvements and support other upcoming Masjid.

Proposed Location

• The new land identified for building a Masjid is located between Ojima station and Nishi Ojima Station  -10 mins from both the Stations (Toei Shinjuku line)

Need for Crowd Fund raising:

 Koto ward, Ojima is 8 Kilometre away from the Tokyo centre and the land prices are very high. Either due to lack of fund or the right location we could not finalize the place. After a long struggle, by the grace of Allah we identified a place that would suffice the need for Masjid and the agreement for the land was done on 28/Jul/2023 with the following details, 

• The maximum time that we got to settle the committed amount is by end of Mar/2024.
• In case we are not able to meet our commitment, the penalty clause is very high that we are not able to meet their demands.
• We have almost finalized 3 places for Masjid but due to lack of timely funding capacity, we had to drop these places.

 We are forced to join the crowd funding to help us secure a masjid for our community. 

Estimation Cost of Dar Al Taqwa Masjid Project - Phase I

• Total Value of the Land + Renovation : 12,000 万円 (850,000 USD)
• Time for Settlement                               : 31/Mar/2024 
• Amount paid during the contract (5%): 600 万円 
• Size of Land                                             : 188 mts.sq 

Till date we have managed to collect 25% (3,000万円, 212,500 USD) of the total amount through our internal community contribution, Launch Good Campaign, weekly Masjid Jummah Collections...etc. We need balance 75% (9,000万円; 637,500 USD) to secure a place for our Masjid. Considering the overall space for the Masjid (188 mts.sq) and total carpet area(758) it estimates to 159,000 JPY/Carpet space. Details as follows…

Our Activities:

• 5 times daily prayer
• Jum’ah Prayer
• Iftar gathering and Taraweeh during Ramadan
• Zakat al-fitr
• Overnight stay during Ramadan last 10 days (Qiyamullail)
• Eid Fitr and Eid Adha celebration

DA’WAH AND EDUCATION

• Tarbiya class for Men ＆Women
• Learning Islamic Teaching for children (known as Quran Class)
• Daily hadith reading

Social Activities

• Conducting blood donation camp twice a year.
• Contribution of al-Fitr amount to NGO for direct contribution to the most needed people.
