Masjid Taqwa was created in 1984 by a group of Muslims in Southwest Atlanta.  In the early ‘90’s, Imam Baye Secka was appointed by the renowned Shaykh Hassan Cisse (r.a.a.) to be the spiritual leader of the congregation.  As our size increased, in 1996 we moved from the living room of one of the faithful to a suite in a modest office park at Greenbriar in Southwest Atlanta.  Since that time, the community has worshipped in rented spaces.  At the end of 2018 the community moved to our current space located in Metro Atlanta, Georgia in the community of South Fulton, in an area commonly known as “College Park.”  Insha Allah, this space is our launching pad as we take off in growth toward building a Masjid from the ground up!

Masjid Taqwa, a 501(C)3 organization, is building a Masjid for Allah.  We invite you to share in the blessings of building a masjid for the pleasure of Allah. We are currently seeking $50,000 for architectural plans, fees and startup costs. Then Insha Allah we can begin the actual clearing of the donated land (yes we even have the land) and building of the Masjid. Donating to a Masjid, is an ongoing charity which continues even after a person dies and his/her book of deeds are closed. Even if you spend one dollar towards a Masjid, InshaAllah that will count as an ongoing charity.
