153 million. This number represents the amount of orphans worldwide without one or both parents to give them a home, safety, or love. Without the proper support, they are vulnerable to poverty, sickness and the dangers of the world. We can fill the gap in their lives, and show them they are not on their own.

The McMaster Orphan Sponsorship Program is committed to supporting and empowering orphans worldwide. We are one of the largest student-led fundraising campaigns at McMaster University and have successfully raised over $94,000 in the past four years, with which we have sponsored over 100 orphans. Each year we collaborate with students, staff, local businesses and members of the community to raise money for orphan sponsorship.

With the global pandemic underway the orphans are now in desperation more than ever before. Together with Islamic Relief Canada, we hope to provide these children with the adequate food, shelter, medical care, and access to an education. #MacOSPgoesVirtual is set to launch on November 2nd, and we are aiming to raise $25,000 over the next few months. We have planned several exciting virtual fundraising initiatives with lots of opportunities for prizes. Want to get involved?
