Sponsor mental heath services for Middle Eastern and South Asian families in crisis

Who We Are?

Qazizada Multicultural Therapy Clinic is a non-profit organization that was established in February 2023 and is located in Orange County, California. The organization was created to provide FREE services to the South Asian and Middle Eastern community within California in the native languages to support individuals and families who are experiencing mental health challenges. Mental Health professionals at QMTC  speak English, Dari, Hindi, Pashto, and Urdu and work from a cultural competent lens. This organization was created by Dr. Lamba Aziz-Hanifzai and Wali Abdul Hanifzai, a couple who experienced migration and displacement after leaving Afghanistan and taking refuge in the United States in 2000. Both Dr. Aziz and Mr. Hanifzai became mental health practitioners to provide support in their respective communities. Growing up both Dr. Aziz and Mr. Hanifzai experienced various challenges such as acculturation, generational gap within the family, problems with communication, bullying/discrimination, identity development, loneliness and much more.

What We Do?

Since the organization has been established, QMTC has

  • Conducted over 1200 hours of therapy sessions for couples, families, children, and individuals struggling with a variety of mental health challenges.
  • Provided 20 FREE workshops focusing on parenting, bullying, depression, stress management, trauma, grief and loss,
  • Hosted a bi-weekly FREE program for seniors to improve social connection, physical mobility, and mental stimulation
  • Facilitated weekly youth groups that focus on improving self-esteem for Afghan refugee children through art and play therapy
  • Presented 8 trainings to the community addressing and raising awareness about topics such as domestic violence, child protective services, appropriate disciplining, marriage/divorce, and suicide prevention.
  • Assisted in the establishment of the Office of Refugees within Orange County in collaboration with other organizations.
  • Provided 2 cultural competence trainings to staff at group homes fostering Refugee youth from South Asian, Middle Eastern and North African countries.

In order to continue providing free mental health care and advocacy for our community, QMTC is asking for donations to cover costs for services that will benefit the people in need of mental health services.

Please donate generously towards this cause and help us fundraise $10,000.00. All proceeds go towards covering therapy sessions and educational workshops.  This cause is Zakat Applicable in line with HRF's Zakat Policy.
