Dear reader,

Mihraab Foundation is hard at work providing education and various resources to the greater Seattle Muslim community, and beyond. In order to continue this essential work, we are asking for your support this Ramaḍān. Please contribute for the sake of Allāh Most High and make it possible for us to expand the impact Mihraab’s programs are having on our community.

As we enter this blessed month of Ramaḍān, we at Mihraab Foundation would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support, and offer insight into the impactful work Mihraab Foundation is engaging in year-round. 

Since Ramaḍān of 2019, Mihraab has:

• Consistently offered more than ten weekly programs, including Islamic studies classes, youth ḥalaqas, and sacred knowledge classes.
• Cultivated the love of Islām in young Muslims to the degree that many former students have become mentors and leaders in the Seattle area. The future of the Muslim community relies on its youth, and thus part of Mihraab’s mission is to provide mentorship and guidance to young Muslim men and women. We aim to embed strength of faith and character through our various youth programs, and build a sense of companionship through social events tailored to the needs of young Muslims.
• Taught sacred Islamic knowledge to the largest audience yet via our Essentials of Islam Couse – Foundational and Extended. Mihraab’s scholars have continued teaching all classes online in light of the current COVID-19 crisis.
• Successfully launched the EIC Arabic program, by which we endeavor to impart basic literacy in the language of the Qur’ān, and open the doors for future, more advanced, Arabic and Islamic studies.
• Hosted programs with local and visiting scholars/organizations, addressing topics such as Islamic literacy and cultivating love for the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.
• Provided scholarships to local students of knowledge to further their studies both domestically and abroad, so that they may provide benefit to our community for years to come.
• Expanded the reach of Mihraab programs by live-streaming classes and networking with scholars and other communities.

​Our 2020-2021 Goals:

• We endeavor to establish a permanent location in the Greater-Seattle area, where we can provide a base from which we can expand our scholastic and youth branches and community offerings greatly.
• We hope to hire a third resident scholar if the opportunity arises, through whom we can have a greater impact in serving and fulfilling the needs of our community.

Summary of our growth:

By the grace of Allah, Mihraab has seen exponential growth. We envisioned offering a course wherein people could learn their obligatory knowledge in a formalized setting.  Five years ago, we launched the Essentials of Islam Course, a set of three classes designed to teach the foundations of Islamic law, creed, and the sīrah of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ.

By the grace of Allah, we have reached capacity in successive terms since the original launch. The program has itself expanded to include our EIC Extended Course and EIC Arabic.

The demand for eternal knowledge will forever be present, and it is incumbent on us that we do what it takes to facilitate learning. We have extended a number of scholarships (even to entire families).

Through our weekly gathering on Being Muslim, in collaboration with Wasat, a local Seattle da’wah organization, we have been able to reach out to new Muslims and those trying to reconnect with the Din, as well as some who simply have an interest in Islam.  Much like our classes held at the University of Washington, this is an extremely important effort in which we are very blessed to play an active part. By the grace of Allah, several individuals have embraced Islam over the last two years because of this class. 

In addition to our normal weekly programs and those highlighted above, we continue to offer one-off classes, events and workshops like our Youth Halaqah's, Youth Socials and Youth Puberty Workshops.

Our continued growth and success rely on your continued generosity. We pray Allah Most High includes supporting Mihraab to be among your good deeds this Ramaḍān.
