What I Am Raising Funds For?

Collecting food to help overcome food poverty is becoming increasingly problematic for us. We need to purchase a van to be used by the charity and others to help overcome food poverty! 
Daily supermarkets are throwing away good food! This food can be used by charities like ourselves to feed thousands of people. Every year this amounts to millions of £££ worth of food that is being thrown away! To continue serving thousands of Newham residents to overcome food poverty, we need a van to collect food from all the supermarkets and distribute where needed.

What am I doing? 

The Annual Boat Race is an event which has been established by the Al-Noor Foundation in the Summer of 2018, at Fairlop Waters in the London Borough of Redbridge. The next event will take place on Saturday 21st August 2021, inshaa Allah.

About Al Noor Boat Race

The event is open to all schools, faith groups, charities and corporate organisations. The event aims to unite the community whereby individuals, families and organisations have the opportunity to raise money for charitable causes which are close to their hearts, by simply registering for a boat and participating in the race.

Boat races are part of the great heritage of British culture and an amazing way to unite both competitors and communities together behind a common cause. Dragon Boat racing is something which is growing in popularity in the UK, originating from Southern China’s Guangdong Province.

The boats we will be using can accommodate up to 17 riders at a time and will be provided by a specialist Dragon Boat company which the Foundation has partnered up with to run the event.
