Your House in Jannah — Help Our Masjid Grow & Reap the Reward of an Ongoing Sadaqah

Campaign Objective

We need your help in creating a safe, inclusive space for our growing Muslim population in Auckland New Zealand, especially for our beloved sisters and children!

​Masjid at-Taqwa is an Islamic community centre, mosque and da'wah organisation in Auckland, New Zealand. Allaah has blessed us with an ever-growing congregation of worshippers that we want to better serve by adding a mezzanine floor to the masjid. Our goal is to provide additional room for our community and add a safe, comfortable area for our sisters and especially new mothers, so they can attend the masjid with ease, safety and privacy.

How Will the Community Benefit from the Project?

Our community has grown rapidly over the years, alhamdulillaah. We are on a mission to keep pace with our expanding congregation, but we cannot accomplish this alone. With your donation, you will serve...

… your Muslim sisters:

• First of its kind mothers’ and toddlers’ room in any New Zealand masjid where new mothers get the chance to attend the masjid with full comfort and privacy
• Upgrade of the women’s wudoo area with proper washing stations
• New ladies entrance from the rear car park rather than off the main driveway, to provide safety and security for sisters and children
• Establishment of a ladies' online education hub

… the Muslim community in New Zealand:

• Learning opportunities and Islamic education through a da'wah training academy, an Islamic institue and children’s school
• Extended prayer area for up to 150 additional worshippers when masjid is full
• Flexible multi-purpose space to be used during Eids, Islamic events or as an additional classrooms
• Renovated and fully equipped media room to produce engaging da’wah content

How Will YOU Benefit?

Imagine a bright, inviting room. You are amazed by the buzzing sound of small children reading their first letters in Arabic and memorizing soorahs of the Noble Qur’aan. Walking down the hallway, you notice a sign for the private mothers' area, where sisters with newborn babies get to attend prayers, classes and lectures while enjoying complete safety and with minimal disturbance to other worshippers from children’s cries. 

Through your donation, you can be a part of this (and more) — and reap the reward for ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jaariyah) for doing so! Allaah’s Messenger ﷺ said:

“Whoever builds a masjid for the sake of Allaah, Allaah will build for him a house in Jannah.” (al-Bukhaari & Muslim)

After the aid of Allaah, we need our brothers and sisters around the world to support us in renovating the masjid. The reward for charity towards the building of mosques is continuous and immense. As a place of worship, mosques not only serve the one who recites Qur’aan, but also the one who aims to expand his knowledge, the worshippers who perform the prayer, and the one who seeks guidance. By contributing to this project, you have the chance to gain reward from Allaah, the Exalted, for:

• building a masjid for the sake of Allaah (and reap the blessings for all beneficial deeds performed therein)
• giving charity from your pure, halaal wealth (stated to be from the most virtuous of all the acts of worship)

• establishing beneficial knowledge and
• investing in the next generation of Muslims.

You will also, inshaa’Allaah, earn rewards for all those who enter the masjid to:

• worship and pray to Allaah
• memorize and study the Noble Qur’aan
• learn the Arabic language
• study the religion of Allaah, the Most High
• spread the message of Islam and invite people to worship Allaah alone or
• embrace Islam.

The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:

“When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jaariyah (ongoing charity); knowledge which is beneficial; or a righteous child who will pray for him.” (Muslim)

Target amount

The estimated project cost is $500,000 This may sound like a lot, but we want to encourage you to not look at how much is required. Instead, donate whatever you are able to — no amount is too small! Together we can make this objective a reality inshaa’Allaah! In regard to charity, our Messenger ﷺ said:

“Save yourselves from the hell fire even if it be with a piece of a date.”(Muslim)
