Bringing West Coast Muslims Students Together

Muslim Student Association West (MSA West) is a grassroots organization comprised of Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) representing campuses across the West Coast of the United States. We are a cohesive coalition of Muslim students united for the sake of Allah (God) who aim to embody the concepts of unity, strength, and activism.

Since the foundation of MSA West, the annual conference has consistently been one of the largest and most exciting events put together by the organization for the last 18 years. The conference is aimed to bring students from all over the west coast together on one university campus for an entire weekend. The conference will include a lineup of inspirational speakers, activists, and professionals leading a variety of sessions and workshops and incorporates coast-wide campaigns and competitions to encourage students to reach their full potential.

“Back to the Fitra: Revitalizing the Hearts of the Believers.”

The ongoing internal struggle between one’s self, soul, and desires is something that every Muslim student faces daily. Balancing school, work, religious, and other daily obligations can become overwhelming at times; and at the end of the day, in one form or another, we find ourselves drifting away from Allah (swt), and forgetting His presence in every moment of our lives.

The purpose of this conference is to remind and motivate ourselves to seek Allah (swt) throughout our daily lives. We aim to inspire ourselves to continue to seek excellence, as a means of uplifting and maintaining the global community to which we belong. A weekend with thousands of Muslims students coming together for the purpose of learning will not only provide an enriching experience, but will create a more united and conscious ummah.

InshaAllah this will be the 18th annual MSA West conference and will be held at the California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo located on California's beautiful Central Coast from January 15-17. The conference is a great method for Muslim students to learn more about Islam, become closer to Allah (swt), and share a wonderful experience with over a thousand Muslim students going through similar life struggles and create a bond that could last a lifetime. We really need everyone's support in order for us to achieve our goals and put together a successful conference!

The funds from this campaign will be used for:

• Renting classrooms and lecture halls
• Food
• Speakers
• Hotel accommodations
