Help Provide a Graduate Scholarship to a Chaplain Working to Uplift Under-Served Muslim Communities.

Bayan Claremont Islamic Graduate School, with the support of the Ali family, is excited to have you be a part of the Muhammad Ali Scholarship Fund for Spiritual Leadership.  

Bayan has already received applications and awarded this scholarship to 17 of 20 students getting their Master's degrees in:

• ​MA in Islamic Studies
• MA in Islamic Leadership
• MA in Islamic Education
• MDiv in Islamic Chaplaincy

Currently, your support is needed to help fund a full Muhammad Ali scholarship for a student in our 3-year MDiv in Islamic Chaplaincy (72 units).

Scholarship Information

• Individually valued at $72,000
• Fully covers a 3-year graduate education in Bayan’s accredited program for a Master's of Divinity in Islamic Chaplaincy

Scholarship Eligibility

The scholarship will support students who have:

• demonstrated academic merit
• financial need, community service/leadership experiences
• a vision for their future endeavors

Why Do We Need to Educate Our Leaders of Under-Served Communities?

• Hospitals, especially those with faith-based affiliations, are in desperate need of Muslim chaplains who can offer spiritual support to patients and their families.
• A growing number of university campuses are seeking chaplains to engage and counsel Muslim undergraduates and create stronger campus communities.
• The federal and state prison systems are seeking qualified candidates to serve incarcerated Muslims.
• Over 5,000 Muslims serve in the U.S. Armed Forces, and the branches are seeking qualified Muslim chaplains to serve and educate all enlisted personnel.

Bayan Claremont, founded in 2011 with the support of the Islamic Center of Southern California, is an independent non-profit entity that currently operates as a division of the Claremont School of Theology. Bayan is part of an interreligious consortium involving partner institutions representing Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and other faith traditions.
