What am I doing?

As salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

By the will of Allah, me (Humza) & my sister Zahra will be taking part in this year’s muslim charity run to raise funds for our islamic schools, London East Academy (LEA) & Al Mizan. We will run this 5k endurance run in the memory of our beloved late grandad - Haji Muhammad Kaptan Miah.

The run will take place in Tower Hamlet's Victoria Park on 9 October. We are taking part in this challenge in the hope that we’ll raise much needed funds for our schools. Both our schools play a pivotal role in educating the young generation with islamic knowledge and producing future scholars insha’Allah.

Islam is the religion of knowledge. The first aayah of the Qur’an to be revealed enjoined reading - which is the key to knowledge:

اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ
خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ
 

‘’Read! In the name of your Lord who created (all that exists)…..Read! And your Lord is the most generous..’

Help us raise funds for LEA & Al Mizan as they strive to support our young generation in fulfilling this order of Allah - the most high, strengthen our community and promote our hub from where future scholars will rise insha’Allah. Insha’allah your donations will be a form of Sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity), & one of the deeds that will benefit us in our graves.

With unquestionable belief in the mercy of Allah SWT, we hope to do some good in the name of my late grandad whilst seeking Allah’s reward & mercy for us all. Verily Allah is not miserly, & we are hopeful that His reward & mercy will expand beyond our late grandad in recognising your generosity, encompassing all of us in His mercy, and allowing us to support His religion by investing in spreading islamic knowledge via both our schools.

We ask Allah to accept from us all & accept our donations as a means of Sadaqah jariya for my late grandad & us all! Barakallahu feekum. May Allah bless you all.
