EMPOWERING MUSLIM CHILDREN, FAMILY AND GENERATIONS 

An online and onsite program for Muslim children aged 7-16 bundled with monthly workshops for parents.

In 2002, I found myself swept up in a historic movement—the pro-Palestine protests. While I stood in solidarity with the Palestinian cause in San Francisco, my husband travelled across the country to join demonstrators in Washington D.C. Our shared commitment contributed to a pivotal moment: the first major U.S. demonstration in support of Palestinians. Now, over two decades later, while the situation has gotten much worse, the people have awakened with stronger support. Just recently, over 250,000 individuals gathered in Washington D.C. to advocate for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza.

The widespread global protests underscore the immense support for Palestine, reflecting a powerful sense of solidarity. However, amidst this outcry against injustice, a troubling reality persists - the absence of impactful Muslims and influential Muslim nations. Despite our unwavering support, the atrocities continue, endorsed by powerful entities. As the years pass, the question weighs heavily on our hearts:  Will future generations inherit the same struggles? We must do all we can to strengthen ourselves as an Ummah.

 Let’s ask ourselves, “What actions can we collectively pursue to empower the next generations and bring about positive change for the preservation of their future?”

The answer lies in investing in our children. 

Muslim parents today are struggling with instilling the love of the Deen in their children.

On the other hand, Muslim children are having a hard time in practicing their faith.  

This is where Muslim Nation Builders come in. 

We revolutionize how the Deen is taught to children in a way that makes them want to learn and practice it with passion and conviction.

If we want to change the trajectory of the Ummah, we have to invest in the Islamic upbringing of today's children because they will be the Nation Builders of tomorrow. 

In our online Maktab, we run a holistic program that focuses on nurturing the student’s spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth, preparing them to excel in diverse aspects of life. Our carefully curated lessons are designed to foster Islamic character-building and critical-thinking skills. Our teachers are given special training to impart lessons through engaging discussions and thought-provoking activities. The focus is on, building a strong connection with Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, learning to love and appreciate the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the sahabah, focusing on Jannah as our true and final goal, and making good Muslim friends who will last a lifetime, inshallah. These are things that cannot be purchased at any price, and are the finest blessings that create a lasting impact.

At Muslim Nation Builders, the teachers, students, and parents work as a team. 

Parents receive monthly coaching sessions and personal meetings with their child’s teachers. This helps parents identify the fitrah (signature strengths) of their child so that they can support the child in living up to his/her highest potential.

Muslim Nation Builders is inspired by the vision and teachings of the Nation Builder, Sh. Muhammad Alshareef (ra), and is dedicated to continuing his legacy.

Our Vision is to spiritually empower Muslim children to live a purposeful life and practice the Deen with passion and conviction.

We are Muslim Nation Builders and we are revolutionizing how Islam is taught to children.

We empower children with a "Jannah Mindset," as the guiding light to stay on the One True Path - Siraat al Mustaqeem. We help them recognize and internalize their role in this life as responsible and mindful Muslims, striving to grow in imaan (faith) and taqwah (God Consciousness) with a sense of accountability.  

We weave our lessons with impactful narratives from Islamic history, incorporating Ayahs and ahadith relevant to each lesson's theme. Students engage in reflective debates and discussions, internalizing these teachings through our scaffolded lesson plans, hence fostering a deep understanding and connection to the subject matter. 

We also guide them to recognize that life is filled with opportunities to seek and earn the pleasure of Allah, by owning their thoughts, choices, and intentions. We inspire them to make a meaningful impact wherever they go, With an understanding of their role as a representative and upholder of Allah’s laws on this earth.

إِنِّى جَاعِلٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةًۭ ۖ

 "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority."

Our approach isn't just about learning facts and figures; it's about nurturing these talents, encouraging the pursuit of excellence (Ihsan), and guiding our children as they ascend toward their full potential.

 Through active communication, one-on-one meetings, monthly workshops, and group coaching, parents are involved every step of the way. Our program is designed to address the unique needs of the entire Muslim family unit, providing the tools and guidance to raise children who are spiritually rooted, confident, and well-prepared for the future.

How are we creating an impact

As one of our teachers, Br Wael Abdelgawad explains, “

It is definitely worth mentioning that, as instructors, we keep a lookout for the strengths of our students, helping them to enhance these strengths and gain confidence. (It’s not only about learning religion.) The kids practice public speaking and critical thinking. Every time I discuss a topic or we see a video, I always go around and have everyone share their thoughts. Even if they seem hesitant, I assure them that they can share whatever is on their minds without hesitation. Week over week, we are definitely seeing the kids being more comfortable sharing because they know they are supported.”

While tarbiyah and character building cannot be measured by weekly milestones, it’s the process of transformation in each child and their family that the MNB team values and dedicatedly strives towards.
