Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullah Dear Brothers & Sisters,
On behalf of the Muslim House in Flint, Michigan… We are appealing to you to contribute whatever you can to help rebuild and establish a safe, clean, and sturdy foundation for our inner-city Flint Muslim brothers and sisters to flourish. The masjid is close to University of Michigan-Flint and the Hurley Medical Center which is convenient for Friday Prayer. Currently the roof is in a very bad condition which has caused many leaks.
The city of Flint has been home for more than 400 Muslim families starting from the early 1970s. Those families made a home for themselves and their children. Most of those families still live there and are part of the community of Flint; and many more families are joining the community.
After a long reputation of being on the top of the list of worst crime cities in the US, the city of Flint has started several projects of reviving its city. http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2015/06/seven_projects_are_driving_fli.html
The Muslim House was founded in 1995 and happens to be located in the heart of downtown Flint... right down the street from the above mentioned projects. Having a beautified masjid in the downtown city will be a positive representation of Islam and the care and respect we have towards our places of worship.
Please help us repair this Masjid. The mosque needs a new roof, soffit (the layer underneath that has water damage), new ceiling tiles, carpet and many other repairs are needed.
We have a $20,000 estimate in some of the repairs which include:
One of the most beautiful forms of charity is that of Sadaqa Jaariya. Sadaqa Jaariya is a form of a good deed that you can continue to gain rewards for even after death.

We also pray we will continue to start new projects in rebuilding and repairing this place so that it may be an established community for our inner-city Flint brothers and sisters as well as University students and people working at Hurley Medical Center.

To all of our wonderful donors,
We would like to convey to you our outmost gratitude to being apart of this project. As you all know, the Muslim House has been in need of avast amount of repairs. We wanted to begin our support to them by giving them asolid roof foundation to protect our Muslim brothers & sisters during timesof harsh weather. Now that this project has been completed, alhamdulilah, theMuslim House has been provided with some funds to begin to rebuild and repairthe roof of their beautiful place of worship.
Without your help and generosity, and without the grace ofAllah, this project would have not been possible. Every single donor, eventhose who could only afford to give one dollar, have taken a great role inaiding the Muslim House. The Muslim House is still need a lot of help and donations.Despite all the trials that this Masjid in downtown Flint is facing, in thewake of the Flint water crisis... The Muslim community in Flint has been takingpart in helping out the local Flint residents mashaAllah! They have donated anddistributed thousands of water bottles. Despite their own struggles, they aretaking part in helping their neighbors above themselves, something we can allgain as a lesson on how to truly live by the example of the Prophet PBUH.

We are writing this email to keep our Donors informed as to what is the status on "The Muslim House".
Firstly, we wanted to thank all the donors so far, each and every one of you who has helped in this project, even with just one dollar donation. The project (the house of ALLAH) is ending today, and therefore we wanted to give our sincere thanks. We appreciate each and every contribution received so far.
Secondly, with respect to the project, we would like to inform you that the soffit has been partially done. That is good. But unfortunately, yesterday, December 17th, 2015 as the roofers were placing the shingles onto the roof, we had a set back.The chimney fell off the building. InschALLAH we will see on Monday what needs to be done, before returning to the roof work. Since yesterday we have a big blue tarp on the roof. Due to this fact, we would like you to know that the project is slightly behind, but by the grace of ALLAH it will be completed. Thereafter your funds will go immediately to pay the roofer.
We will continue to keep you informed on progress and on completion of YOUR project.
