The home in Edmonton opened up in September 2019- since then we have helped a total of 34 individuals in the home itself with nearly 60+ inquiries and are still receiving calls almost every day. 

Our Edmonton community has been the most generous- we know we can count on you when we are in need.

Our very first client at the home came to us with 2 newborn babies; they were born premature at only 3 weeks old. We had just opened and she needed so much help that we felt overwhelmed at first. This new mom needed everything from clothes to carseats and strollers for her little babies. We put out a call and by the end of the day we had 3 carseats donated to us! The giving spirit in Edmonton is commendable and we know we can count on you when we ask!

With the current COVID19 situation, we have seen an increase in call volume by over 400% through-out all homes across Canada. In Edmonton alone, we receive at least 5 inquiries a week. That's women in our very own city that are suffering and reaching out for help. We are so so needed in this community and we want to continue being there for women in need- we HAVE to be here for them- All of us.

It is our responsibility as a community to help each other out- and what better time than now to show our spirit. So please, help us keep this home running so we can continue to help those in need, those who are most vulnerable. 

What is Nisa Homes?

Nisa Homes is the largest group of transitional homes (long-term shelters) for Immigrant, Refugee and Muslim women who are fleeing domestic abuse, experiencing homelessness or forced resettlement. We provide women with a safe space and services to help them get back on their feet and restart their lives.
