The Property We Seek to Acquire:
Muslimat Al-Nisaa houses homeless, often abused, Muslim women. We are forced to regularly turn away homeless sisters due to not having enough space. It is especially challenging for homeless mothers to stay with their sons. It is our dream to be able to offer a place to live for every homeless Muslim woman and her children. We have been blessed with an opportunity to purchase a second property below current market value. Acquiring this property would allow us to triple the numbers of those whom we can house nationwide. Canned goods, secondhand clothes, and Eid gifts are not enough, we need to come together to keep our most vulnerable sisters off the streets.
Without space, we are forced to look Muslim women in the eyes and turn them away. We need $100,000 to acquire a property to house our sisters in faith. We have been fighting homelessness since 1987, this is your invitation to stand with us in supporting OUR sisters.
“People tell me, ‘Alhumdulillah (thanks be to God) sister, you are doing a good job; we will make dua (pray) for you.’ But what I need is to make sure the bills get paid.” - Founder, Asma Hanif

Our home has 8 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, and 2 living rooms. Our full capacity is only 50 women and children. The women who stay with us range from stories such as a convert sister being tortured by her family for accepting Islam to sisters fleeing abusive husbands to sisters struggling in their work due to discrimination from wearing the hijab. Sr. Asma lives here with the residents and provides Housing, Occupational, Medical, and Educational services, our acronym is H.O.M.E. We work tirelessly to provide homeless, abused Muslim women with basic services and the human dignity of having their faith and culture respected. As a Muslim women who has lived through homelessness, Chaplain Asma Hanif is uniquely positioned to be a true advocate, voice, and servant of the needs of homeless Muslim women.
