In Malawi, hunger isn’t just a daily struggle—it’s a crisis. Over 70% of the population lives beneath the poverty line, with the poorest earning less than £139 a year. This hardship has only worsened in the wake of Cyclone Freddy, which devastated communities and claimed countless lives. To put it in perspective, the cyclone released more energy over its lifetime than an entire US hurricane season.

But there is hope. Food is their answer.

Why Food Matters
For the children of Malawi, regular school meals mean more than just nourishment—they mean a future. With access to daily meals, children can grow up healthily, stay in school, and focus on their studies. An education, fueled by proper nutrition, can help them break the cycle of poverty and unlock brighter opportunities ahead.

Charity Right is already making a difference, operating in 11 Madrassahs across Malawi and feeding over 5,000 children. These meals are a lifeline, helping vulnerable children stay in school and dream of a better tomorrow.
