Jan. 6, 2017, would've been Little David's first birthday
But, a week and two days shy of his big day, Little David was taken back to heaven.
No parent should have to plan a funeral instead of a 1st birthday party for their child. It's a pain that is virtually unbearable. And now, as if the pain of losing a baby isn't enough, the anticipation of mounting medical bills is making an unbearable situation even worse.
Little David was a rambunctious ball of energy, full of smiles and love. He loved to play with cars and toys that would light up almost as brightly as he cheeks. One of the friendliest babies you'd ever meet, he'd crawl toward the door to greet visitors, make friends with the other children at the gym, and fill the hearts of everyone he met with laughter, light and love.
Dec. 19 is a day that changed our lives forever. It was unexpected and sudden. Our bundle of joy suddenly couldn't breathe. Seizure. Heart stops. CPR. Defibrillator five times. Little David had to be taken by helicopter from Stone Ridge hospital to the Children's unit at Fairfax Hospital where he'd spend the next 10 days. We were hopeful and spent every moment praying - - so many of you did too. The support and love was tremendous.
But, Little David was too precious for this earth, and on Dec. 28, at 5:10 p.m., while in the loving arms of his parents, Mohamad and Grazie Khatib, our little angel incarnate became an angel in heaven.
By the grace of God and the support of family and friends, Grazie and Mohamad are showing a resilience and strength that is awe-inspiring.
As they work together to heal and move forward, they are all too aware of the huge medical bills that will be left in their baby's wake.
Little David was a baby we all loved, who filled our lives with joy. Now, on his 1st birthday, let's give the ultimate gift: A donation to help alleviate the medical costs that Mohamad and Grazie are going to face.
As you can imagine, this adds up to a lot. Any amount you can give, every share of this page you can make, every prayer you can dedicate helps.
We hope to raise at least $30,000 within the forty days that take us from his birthday to Valentine's Day.

We did it!
What can we say: love is powerful!
More than 200 kind, gracious, generous people -- INCLUDING YOU -- came together to answer the call for help. Together, this community of love raised more than $15,000 in Little David's honor. AN AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT! Without YOU, this would not have happened.
You are our family, and we honor the universe of goodness, light and love that lives within you. And we promise to pay your generosity forward.
THANK YOU.

Valentine's Day
Today is the day -- at 11:45 p.m. Eastern tonight, we close of our journey for Little David.
On behalf of all of us, THANK YOU ... thank you so much for choosing our precious little angel to receive your generosity, for saving a place for him in your heart.
We're not much on Valentine's Day, but this year, we have a special reason to honor it. So, from our #littledavidtribeoflove to all of you, happy Valentine's Day.
Sincerely,
<3

Love abounds, even before Valentine's Day
You have been so gracious and supportive through this whole journey. THANK YOU. It's hard to believe it's almost Valentine's Day, which means our effort is coming to a close.
And while we're not going to make the $30K mark, the love and light that we have received (and the more than $12,000 so far!) has been a treasure beyond measure. You embody love, and that love is priceless.
Thank you for taking this journey with us. In these final days, please do share the campaign with your friends and family as a reminder of the power of love.
Sincerely,
Little David Tribe of Love
CPR training
Can't believe it's been more than a month now since Little David's passing. They say time heals, but in truth, it's just gotten harder as the realization that he truly is not coming back to give us hugs or pull his Aunti's hair or smile with those glowing cheeks.
It's that realization that prompted us to take CPR/First Aid training -- so that, if God forbid, we ever found ourselves in a situation like Little David's again, we would have the skills to help.
And in his honor, I'd encourage you to seek out CPR training if you haven't already. For anyone in the Northern VA area, here's our instructor's contact info in case you're interested: Edith Rajendran via American Safety & Health Institute: 703-380-5810
Thank you again, and again, and again, for being a unified force of good and love and support, and for helping us reach toward our goal. You can't imagine how much you mean to all of us. We are forever grateful.
Sincerely,
Little David Tribe of Love
YOU are my hope
Yesterday, I saw the movie "Sicko" by Michael Moore again -- and couldn't help but think that if Mohamad and Grazie lived in France, we wouldn't need this Launchgood for Little David.
I couldn't help but think, if it wasn't for people like you, they'd be standing alone after the death of their precious little boy.
I'm hoping , one day, our own country's healthcare will become one of inclusivity, rather than exclusivity. Until then (and beyond), YOU are where my hope remains strong.
Thank you again for being here for Little David, for Mohamad and Grazie, for the entire family. Thank you for standing together with us in this time of need.
Sincerely,
Reem, Little David Tribe of Love

20+ days of love
It's hard to believe it's already been more than 20 days since our little angel David passed. While time has quickly passed, the pain certainly hasn't. Actually, if anything, it's amplified. But something else has been amplified too: LOVE AND GRATITUDE!
In his wake, Little David has reconnected us with you in the most wonderful of ways. And the support you've shown during these 20 days has been amazing!
Thank you for helping us break through that first $10,000 milestone, in pursuit of the total goal of $30,000. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for spreading the word about this important effort. Thank you for your light and love.
Yours truly,
Little David Tribe of Love
We're getting there because of YOU :)
You are amazing!! Within the first 10 days of this effort, you showed up and showed love. Now, we're approaching that first $10,000 milestone masha'Allah. This is great. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
Please continue to spread the word, letting your loved ones and peers know why this effort was so important to you. We'd love to grow this community of care-givers by adding your family and friends too.
We truly cannot thank you enough, so here's another one >> THANK YOU!

These expenses are insane!
We just found out that the emergency transportation that Little David had to take costs $30,000 ALONE!! Unbelievable. With medical expenses like these, it really is going to take a community effort.
And, so, we THANK YOU for being such a generous and loving member of our family-friends-community. Your donation really makes a difference in chipping away at these expenses, and Grazie, Mohamad and our entire family are so grateful
We know how much you care about this initiative, so please spread the word about >> launchgood.com/littledavid << to at least 10 of your friends. The more who know, the more who can help insha'Allah.
Again, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for all of your prayers and generosity.
From,
The Little David Tribe of Love
