Just a small gift: new pants, a shirt, and shoes for a boy and a new dress, pants, and shoes for a girl. In Gaza, this is what children and their families are asking for right now to celebrate Eid at the end of Ramadan.
Just life-saving clothing — Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) — and medical supplies for Gaza’s hospitals to keep them safe in case the virus takes off. We ask your help to supply Non-Governmental Hospitals in Gaza.
As of May 21st, there are 423 cases of COVID-19 in West Bank and Gaza, with serious outbreak of 179 cases in E. Jerusalem. Israel has 16,683 cases. With 55 cases in Gaza, and Palestinian workers returning home from Egypt and Israel, the virus could easily spread since two or three generations live in the same home.
At the request of the families in great need, Rebuilding Alliance and our Palestinian NGO partners in Gaza ask your help to invite these families to go shopping at a safe distance with their children 14 years old and under. Your donation will keep families healthy and help them buy clothing for a happy Eid.
Rebuilding Alliance (RA) is an American nonprofit 501c3 that has been working in close partnership with Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations since 2003 in both Gaza and the West Bank.
RA's Mission: Rebuilding Alliance is dedicated to advancing equal rights for the Palestinian people through education, advocacy, and support that assures Palestinian families the right to a home, schooling, economic security, safety, and a promising future.
RA's Vision: Rebuilding Alliance strives to realize a just and enduring peace in Palestine and Israel founded upon equal rights, equal security, and equal opportunity for all.
In the last four years, RA successfully sent 35,400 solar lights through the blockade to help children cope in the utter darkness of Gaza's ongoing power outages. When our team delivered the small lights, there was also no food so we learned how to buy and distribute food, clothing, blankets, and tarps in Gaza in accordance with U.S. laws and regulations. For COVID-19 relief, RA has already delivered the first batch of Personal Protective Equipment to two NGO partner hospitals: Ahli Arab Hospital (a Christian hospital that is the oldest in Gaza) and Al Awda Hospital (managed by the Union of Healthcare Workers Committee.) Now, for Ramadan, RA's food delivery to 440 families is already underway.

My family and I moved to the US in 2011, and I became a teacher. I bring all my experience and insight to make this project happen, and I am happy to reply to your questions." — Israa Mattar, mother of 4 and teacher of the Holy Koran
Your employer may be matching COVID-19 Relief donations 2:1! Your donation, already double, could be amplified significantly.

Eid Mubarak! 540 children chose new clothing for Eid thanks to your gift!
Eid Mubarak!
Dear Friend,
I am delighted to let you know that 540 children in Gaza chose new clothes and shoes for the Eid thanks to your donation. Each boy or girl was accompanied by one parent to choose their special outfit.
To our surprise, clothing costs in the Gaza Strip this year are much higher than last year — due to the blockade and COVID-19, barely any goods are entering Gaza, so suppliers have raised their prices. As the cost of goods increase, families in poverty are pushed farther into the margins — and this is why we are grateful for your support.
Our Non-Governmental Org partners finalized quotes from local clothing stores and identified the neediest families. To ensure the children’s safety this year, our partners enforced social distancing while taking them shopping. Only yesterday, Gaza learned that 15 new cases were identified in quarantine.
As they have done in the past, our partners will do an amazing job. Here are our Palestinian partners and the communities they serve:
● Al Basma Club for the Disabled - serving adults and children with disabilities in the north of Gaza in Beit Hanoun and Gaza City;
● Al Amal Society for Rehabilitation - serving the deaf community in the greater Rafah area, in the south;
● Women’s Program Center - Rafah - serving women and children in need in the greater Rafah area; and
● Youth Vision Society - serving the youth of the Al Shati refugee camp (also known as Beach Camp) in Gaza City.
Previously we raised enough funds before Ramadan for food parcels — and then, remarkably the Taawon (Welfare Foundation) doubled our fund to provide twice as much medical and food relief for Gaza hospitals and food for 800 families. Together, our grant, managed by our Palestinian Non-Governmental Partners in full compliance with U.S. law and rules, totalled $108,000.
This allowed us to focus our Palestine, We Care LaunchGood campaign on a second batch of medical supplies and children’s clothing for Eid. That’s where you have contributed — and we’re more than halfway to our goal.
Thank you for your generosity!
Sincerely,
Donna Baranski-Walker
