As we are in Ramadan zakat and sadqa becomes due on us.  We are encouraging all to continue to pay their zakat and sadqa  for our Palestinian families. In January we took nearly 200 Palestinian orphans and widows on Umrah. Some of these orphans were sponsored by parents of the Birmingham Quran Academy.

Taking these blessed children on Umrah is a zakat and sadqa eligible project. Please donate your zakat so we can taken the next group of Palestinian orphan children and widows to the House of Allah and to visit His beloved Rasool in Medina.  It costs £600 to sponsor one orphan child and this covers their food, transport, accommodation, visa/documentation costs etc.

The next planned Umrah trip for Orphans and widows is this September and we are raising zakat and sadqa funds now to plan ahead and book a blessed trip for these beautiful children and mothers.

The aim of the trip is to develop the emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of the orphans as well as to give them a well deserved break, and trip of a lifetime. 
 
We are taking a mix of boys, girls as well as disabled children and widowed mothers. We will collect them from Jordan and travel by coach to Makkah and Madinah. 

Alhamdulillah Islamic Help which is based at the Bahu Trust has organised these trips every year and this year took nearly  200 orphans and 300 orphans last year. In total over 4000 orphans have been sponsored over the last few years.

We can't change what is happening in Palestine but we can bring some happiness into the lives of these children and mothers by offering our zakat and sadqa for one of their dreams to come true - to find peace and joy at the Kaaba and the Rawdah of Rasool.
