School children and adolescents are among those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order since March 2020, especially in terms of education.

With the new norm, online learning has become the main means in schools. However, how are the less able students adapting to this? Not all students in town are fortunate to own devices and access to the internet. In total, 1.7 million students in Malaysia are digitally poor.

According to UNICEF in its Families on the Edge report, 40 percent of households in PPR settlements around the city are children and adolescents. Of which the number, 36 percent are primary school and another 40 percent are secondary school level. The household income was also affected due to retrenchment or unable to run the business as usual due to the Movement Control Order (MCO).

The "Projek Tuisyen Kota Raya" or Kota Raya Tuition Project is an initiative to provide free education to the B40 and M40 communities in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. We are collaborating with Projek Tusiyen Ummah (PROTU), NGOs, and local community partners. Informal and interactive class concept by the selected mentor with the special module is established to motivate the students for the betterment of their education.

Currently in April 2021, we are having 159 students in 7 different location. These classes are held in the Lembah Pantai, Batu, Wangsa Maju, Taman Medan and Kuang areas.

In order to ensure that these tuition classes to continue, we would need your contribution to the continuity of this initiative. One student needs RM50 per month to attend the tuition class.

The following are the cost incurred for this initiative:

1 student = RM50 (including tutor allowance, learning materials, intensive class, additional program, utilities, etc.)

Our target:
RM 50 * 200 students = RM 10,000 per month
RM 10,000 * 10 months = RM100,000 per year

**The more we get, the longer we sustain. If we get more than RM100,000, we will survive for another years.**

We need your contribution and support to provide education to them. Giving charity out of our wealth does not decrease our wealth but instead, Allah (s.w.t.) increases it.

Kanak-kanak dan remaja yang bersekolah merupakan antara golongan yang terkesan akibat pandemik Covid-19 dan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan sejak Mac 2020 terutamanya dari segi pendidikan.

Kebanyakan kelas dan sistem pembelajaran beralih kepada dalam talian. Bagaimana nasib mereka yang kurang berkemampuan? Tidak semua pelajar di bandar mempunyai peranti dan akses kepada internet. Secara keseluruhan, 1.7 juta pelajar di Malaysia miskin digital (Sumber: BERNAMA).

Menurut UNICEF dalam laporan Families on the Edge, sebanyak 40 peratus daripada isi rumah di kawasan penempatan PPR sekitar kota raya terdiri daripada kanak-kanak dan remaja. Daripada jumlah itu, 36 peratus bersekolah rendah dan 40 peratus lagi tahap sekolah menengah. Pendapatan seisi rumah pula terjejas teruk selepas ketua rumah kehilangan punca pendapatan sama ada dibuang kerja ataupun tidak dapat menjalankan perniagaan.

Projek Tuisyen Kota Raya merupakan inisiatif pendidikan percuma kepada pelajar dalam golongan B40 dan M40 di sekitar Kota Raya Kuala Lumpur. Kami berkolaborasi bersama Projek Tuisyen Ummah (PROTU), beberapa NGO dan komuniti setempat. Sesi pembelajaran yang semi formal dan menarik oleh tenaga pengajar dengan modul khas pasti dapat membantu memotivasikan para pelajar untuk menjadi lebih baik.

Kos bagi seorang pelajar ialah RM50 sebulan.Pada tahun 2020, projek tuisyen ini telah berjalan selama hampir 10 bulan, dengan sejumlah 60 orang pelajar terlibat.

Sehingga kini, bulan April 2021, kami mempunyai seramai 159 orang pelajar di 7 lokasi berbeza. Kelas-kelas tersebut berjalan di sekitar Lembah Pantai, Batu, Wangsa Maju, Taman Medan and Kuang.

Dengan itu, kami memerlukan bantuan anda agar kami dapat menjayakan projek ini. Berikut adalah perincian mengenai kos projek:-

Kos seorang pelajar per bulan = RM50 (termasuk kos bayaran tenaga pengajar, bahan pembelajaran, kelas intensif, program tambahan, utiliti, dan lain-lain)

Sasaran:

RM50 * 200 orang pelajar = RM 10,000 (Sebulan)
Rm10,000 * 10 bulan = RM100,000
