If you're like me, you're busy and you give yourself no more than a day to learn something new. If it takes too long you most likely quit.

On the other hand, I love to learn with others. I feel like there's a bunch of other people doing the same thing. I feel like I'm not alone. I realize that everyone is struggling and everyone is busy too and....

...if they can do it, so can I.

My name is Adam Jamal and I've been teaching Quran and Arabic to thousands of people for over 10 years. 

My friend Hani Khan and I started Quranic last year and became the most-funded mobile app on Launchgood!

We’ve spent a wonderful year serving this Quranic Arabic revolution and we are going to keep going!

There's something completely energizing when you see a bunch of Muslims come together to learn.

The Prophet (s) told us that the angels fly over us and Allah remembers us in His company when we remember Him together.

Is the app already available?

Last year we were able to raise enough funds to complete the first phase of Quranic: Arabic for Busy People. We got started before our campaign even ended and were able to release on iOS within 3 months in Ramadan 2018 and on Android soon after. We delivered on our promises this past year and hope to continue creating the best Quran and Arabic learning mobile app with your support.

We're really happy with what we were able to do with your backing. But now we realize that the experience is not complete until everyone can have fun learning together!

1. Your own digital copy of the Quran that knows which words you know. As you learn more words, your Quran will highlight more and more.

2. Find the Surahs where you know the most words already (e.g. based on your history you know 85% of the words in Surah Al-Muso let’s read that first)

This is a really big deal! Developing this means we not only have to map all the words in the entire Quran and in each individual surah, but we also have to connect that data to each student’s personal vocabulary list. This will be a big achievement in 2019 inshaAllah.

How will you decide the order of features?

We may change the order based on student feedback! We like to run a flexible organization. Please email us at info@getquranic.com with any comments or questions.

How updates will roll out

Updates to Quranic run on 2-3 week cycles or what’s known as “sprints.” That means our developers work on a new bite-sized feature for 2 weeks and then we test that feature for 2 weeks with our testers to make sure everything works as planned. Then we are able to release to everyone else!

When you join this campaign, you will be able to become a tester too.

Our Team

We had a team of over 9 people working on this project over the course of this year. 1 Project Manager, 2 full-time Developers, 1 Product Lead, 1 PR Consultant, 1 UI/UX designer, 1 Illustrator, 2 Lesson Creators, and 1 Social Media Manager. We also have 2 great extra developers in case we need to push the team to move faster.

Risks

When we started it took us a while to hire the right developers. We interviewed over 40 software engineers, we transitioned through 3 teams and have settled with a solid team with excellent work.

We use cutting edge software to manage the development and keep track of bugs.

We use data analytics software to see if what we’re implementing is actually working!

We consult with others in the industry to make sure we’re on the right track.

If something is not working with our students, we won’t stubbornly pursue it, so we might shift things around on our timeline based on your feedback.

This helps us to reduce risk.

The big thing we’re afraid of is the personalized learning Quran. It is actually a very complicated task, but we really want to do it! And with your support we will inshaAllah.

We are constantly searching for new ways to design questions and activities on the app. We hope you'll join the testing phase of the app and give us your valued feedback!

Quranic will be able to sustain itself through a subscription model. We're not there yet but we hope to be in the future.

Free subscription: Free users get 2 lessons a day, which is what most students use. Every dollar means our servers can continue to support even more free users!

What else is included?

Quranic Arabic Level 1, 2 and 3.

Quranic Arabic Levels 1-3 are our video courses. Currently only Level 1 is available however the other 2 are on the way! These courses work hand-in-hand with the app. The app focuses on Quranic vocabulary and the video courses work on HOW the language works (aka grammar).
