Experience the Joy: P4H Qurbani Spreads Happiness in Bangladesh & Rohingya Camps (2023)

Let me share the story of Khairul Islam (Pseudo name) as told by him:

“Last night my daughter cried a lot and was asking me why I did not buy Qurbani when her friend bought Qurbani. I said to her “Ma, we are poor!”. “But tomorrow is Eid!” she replied. I could not bear her words so I moved away and wept alone. The whole day, I was hopeless, but you gave us hope. My daughter and family are happy getting meat. Now we can celebrate today like others.”

Give your Qurbani to those who only get a chance to eat meat once in a year!

Thousands of people hardly have any meat the whole year, which breaks our heart. Many people struggle to provide necessities such as food for their families, how can they celebrate Eid? Therefore, please give your Qurbani to them so they can get nutrition and enjoy their Eid al-Adha with their families without worrying about how they will pay for it.

Why will you send your Qurbani to Bangladesh?

The celebration of Qurbani in Bangladesh is impactful for multiple reasons:

• Poor people in Bangladesh: 14% of the population do not have their next meal to eat due to poverty. About 15.1% of its population does not have enough to meet their minimum daily diets [1]. The data of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) shows that a typical person in Bangladesh consume meat 30 times less than a typical American in whole year [2].
• Miserable conditions of Rohingya Refugee: A new report has published in Devex which shows that about 890,000 Rohingya refugees live a ‘miserable' conditions in camps in the Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Refugees are not allowed to work or go outside of the camps which means they survive upon your generosity. Burma Human Rights Network (BHRN) interviewed the refugees from 10 different camps, all reported violence as being an issue, 93% said they didn’t have enough food, and 50% noted a lack of medical resources [3].

What did we do?

We distributed fresh meat to extremely vulnerable families in selected locations across Bangladesh, including the Rohingya Refugee Camp in Cox's Bazar through the provision of Qurbani meat.

Thousands of people wait in line to receive a box of meat, as they do not have any throughout the year. Will you give them a chance to eat meat?

Accomplishment: we delivered 200 Qurbani, benefitted 10,500 people
