We are happy to announce that we will continue the Eid-ul-Adha Qurbani/Udhiya program. The process is the same as last year: US$65 for a goat or sheep, and $450 for a cow (which is 7 parts).

AlhamduAllah pre-registration is complete for Saturday's LIFT 5th Annual Ramadan Quran Recitation Competition. This year we have 54 students from 20 different schools competing. The students are from the Kilwa and Lindi districts.

The breakdown is as follows:

 Level 1 (Juz’ 30) - 15 students

 Level 3 (Juz’ 28) - 21 students

 Level 5  (Juz’ 26) - 9 students

 Level  7 (Juz’ 24) - 9 students

Al HamduAllah, thanks to you, we met our goal. The team is now has 1 week to prepare for the June 9 LIFT 5th Annual Quran Recitation Contest. It will be an intense week but they are up for the task. I look forward to reporting to you in a week.

​Madressa teachers in Lindi meeting May 29

This year LIFT is happy to announce that this year's competition will encompass all 6 districts within Lindi region. (Kilwa, Lindi Urban, Lindi Rural, Liwale, Nachingwea, and Ruangwa)

All six districts have been invited to send their top candidates for each of the 4 Juz.

Some localities have already conducted qualifying competitions.

InShaAllah approximately 50 students will compete. The top 3 positions in each category will receive awards based on position and Juz level. All students who compete will be recognized.

The competition is open to the public and we welcome all. We believe this competition encourages Quranic study throughout the year.

The 4 levels in this year's competition are,

Level 1: Juz’ 30 – An Nabaa 1 – An Nas 6
(78:1 - 114:6)

Level 2: Juz’ 28 – Al Mujadila 1 – At Tahrim 12
(58:1 - 66:12)

Level 3: Juz’ 26 – Al Ahqaf 1 – Az Zariyat 30
(46:1 - 51:30)

Level 4: Juz’ 24 – Az Zumar 32 – Fussilat 46
(39:2 - 41:46)
