Ramadan For Palestine With Saujana campaign aims to raise RM35,000 to provide 117 food packs that will benefit 600 people in Gaza, Palestine. This campaign runs in phases starting April 27 until May 23.

Among people that will receive the aid are vulnerable families whose households are living hand to mouth, unemployed people, disabled persons, matriarch households, orphans, and senior citizens.

Each food pack worth RM300 comprising of halawa, rice, lentils, oil, tomato paste, pasta, sugar, cheese, dates, and canned beans.

Situation in PALESTINE

Ramadan is a month where one seeks the mercy of Allah through heightened worship. Amidst the blessed month of Ramadan, quite a few calamities befell the people in the conflict-affected countries like Palestine. Heading the list is the Covid-19 outbreak, poverty, and endless hostilities since 2011 particularly on the Gaza Strip. As of April 26, there are 342 Covid-19 confirmed cases and two deaths recorded.

With 4.7 million population in Palestine, 25% of citizens are considered poor, unemployment stands at a staggering 43%, and even higher among the youth. In Gaza alone, 68.5% of people are food insecure.

Many of our brothers and sisters in Palestine are still experiencing the same struggles in the war-wrecked country during Ramadan. To make it worse, they are facing these trials in the month where all Muslims should celebrate it in tranquility. Nevertheless, there are things that kind-souls should not forget which is the Palestinians' right to daily necessities.
