Give 2 weeks of nutrition to help Palestinian families hold on

Bombs were falling in Gaza, during Ramadan.  Families already in dire need need your help now more than ever

Last week, food boxes were filled and our teams delivered to 1000 Gaza families. Deliveries to 250 Masafer Yatta families in the West Bank finished last week too. Delivery to 100 very poor Christian families will take place starting Monday.  Your support is needed now to pay the bill. Through your gift you helped feed 8,100 Palestinians who are in dire need.

We're thankful to the Good Planet Foundation for making a generous donation of $10,000.

This Ramadan, help feed 1350 needy families — that's 8100 people in need

  • We ask your help to feed 1000 families in Gaza, that's about 6000 destitute people

  • After 23 years in litigation, the Israeli military's High Court decreed that the Army may forcibly remove 8 Palestinian villages in Masafer Yatta. Help feed 250 families there.

  • Very poor Christian families in the Bethlehem area also need assistance. With your help, they will celebrate Easter. Please include 100 Christian families in your blessings.

Please give 2 weeks healthy and filling suhoors and iftars to Gaza and West Bank families.

$95.00 will buy nutritious food supplies to feed a family of six for two weeks.

OUR PROMISE:  we deliver food no matter what
Rebuilding Alliance works with Palestinian Non-Governmental Org Partners and together we learned how to deliver food during the worst emergencies in Gaza, in 2014, in 2021, and now. This is what we do.

These are families with a lot of pride and are not comfortable being photographed

Selection Criteria for Families
These 1350 families have been carefully selected by our five Palestinian partner NGOs based on their need. These families have no source of income, have persons with disabilities or people suffering from chronic diseases, or have widowed or divorced women as their only breadwinner. These are the most marginalized families in the area.

Rebuilding Alliance's NGO Partners:
In Gaza, our four Palestinian partner NGO's will distribute food boxes in the North, South, and Center of Gaza:

  • Women Programs Center — Rafah, Gaza
  • Al Amal Society for Rehabilitation – Rafah, Gaza
  • Youth Vision Society – Beach Camp, Gaza City
  • Al Basma Club for the Disabled – Gaza City and Beit Lahia, Gaza

In the West Bank, our Palestinian NGO partner:

  • Holy Land Trust is working with the Rural Women's Association of the South Hebron Hills to deliver to the 8 Masafer Yatta Villages that located inside Israel’s Military Firing Zone 918.  Holy Land Trust will also deliver to the very poor Christian Palestinian families for the Easter holidays.

Give now to pay the bill for all the deliveries to families during Ramadan. We delivered this bundle of happiness to Palestinian families — your gift let them know that the world cares what happens to them.  Here are the contents of each food box:

About Rebuilding Alliance

Rebuilding Alliance is a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equal rights for the Palestinian people through education, advocacy, and support that assures Palestinian families the right to a home, schooling, economic security, safety, and a promising future.

How did the Rebuilding Alliance learn to deliver food even when bombs were falling?

What we've learned is not something that came easily. In 2014, as 1000 bombs were falling each day, thousands ran for their lives, taking refuge in U.N. schools. The family whom the late Rachel Corrie sought to protect in Gaza asked us to arrange food deliveries and cleaning supplies when we thought it near impossible. Store owners accepted a promissory note from Rebuilding Alliance and the Rachel Corrie Foundation. Volunteers joined in to pick up the food, bringing it to the 2000 people taking refuge in each of the  UN schools. Thanks to the Arab American AntiDiscrimination Committee and to our guests, the Right to Movement Marathon Runners, we raised all the funds needed.

Please know that all our work is in full accordance with all U.S. laws and regulations.

Happy Eid! Holding Palestine in our Prayers

To our wonderful donors who follow the Islamic faith, I wish Happy Eid ul Adha and a blessed Day of Arafah. Arafah is the holiest day of the year for Muslims, it is the day when pilgrims gather in the plains of Arafah and seek Allah's blessings and forgiveness.

Our Palestinian NGO partners did wonderful work to purchase all the food!  You can still donate to our Ramadan Food Program to help meet the shortfall. Please make your donation now.

Thank you for caring for 1361 Palestinian families this Ramadan and Easter. Because of your generosity, the Ramadan Emergency Food Program raised $91,337 toward the goal of $121,197.

  • - 958 needy families received food boxes across Gaza

  • - 253 families in the Masafer Yatta area received food boxes

- 150 families in need received food boxes in the Bethlehem area

That means over 8,100 people received 2 weeks of nutritious food!

Your generosity enabled us to cheer up these people, including those suffering from disease and disability

We’re ready to move to our next food program in Gaza. To do that we must resolve the current shortfall.

We need your support now–otherwise our organization will need to borrow the funds to fulfill our commitments. We’re short by $29,860.

Thank you for all that you do.

Sincerely,

Donna Baranski-Walker
Founder and Executive Director, Rebuilding Alliance

P.S.   I just now donated my whole paycheck, $3100, to help close the funding gap. Please join me and make your extra contribution too.  Thank you again.

Thank you for feeding 1350 families in need

Dear Friend,

Thank you for caring for 1350 Palestinian families this Ramadan and Easter. A thousand needy families received food boxes in the North and South of Gaza, 250 families in the Masafer Yatta area received food boxes, and in the Bethlehem area 100 families in need received food boxes too. That means over 8,100 people received 2 weeks of nutritious food!

I'm delighted to share two of many impact stories from the families. As you may know, unemployment in Gaza is well over 50%, tens of thousands are in financial distress.

Mr. Hossni's Family, from the Sheikh Ajleen area in Gaza, is one of them. Hossni has four daughters and three sons to support, but no income to meet their basic needs and pay the rent. The family was delighted when the volunteers reached their place with the food boxes (2 boxes, easier to carry) and thanked every person involved in this act of kindness.

Mohammad lives with his family in a cramped house that cannot even accommodate one person, let alone a family of six, Mohammed, his wife, and their four children. With limited job opportunities, Mohammed works as a construction worker whenever possible, but it's not enough to provide for his family. The family, especially the children, were overjoyed to see the food boxes and unboxed all in no time.

Thank you for your donation. For Hossni's, Mohammad's, and another 1348 families, the box provided a glimmer of hope in an otherwise challenging time. They felt seen and supported, a feeling that will stay with them forever.

Even though we delivered the food boxes, we’re still short of our goal. We’re making partial payment to the vendors and asking everyone to reach out to your family and friends to help. Thank you for all that you do!

Sincerely,

Maria Syed

Thanks to all those who contributed to the Emergency Food Program, 1250 Palestinian families have received food boxes in Gaza and Masafer Yatta from our partner NGOs. To these families, boxes meant much more than food, they were gifts of hope and love…from you to them! Thank you!

We're receiving heartwarming stories of impact from our partner NGOs in Gaza and the West Bank.

  • Nael is one of the families that received a food box from you. Nael lives with his wife and five children in a small, shabby house in the Gaza Strip. He doesn't have a steady income. The family often goes to bed hungry because they can't afford food. When the family received the food box, the children's faces lit up with joy, and Nael and his wife were in tears. They expressed their gratitude.

  • Mohammad lives with his family in a small, one-bedroom house in Al-Shati Refugee Camp, Gaza. He is a father of four daughters and a son. Despite working long hours as a tailor, he's unable to provide for his family. The family, especially the children, were delighted to receive the food box. They expressed their appreciation for this kind act.

For Nael and Mohammad’s families, the food basket was a gift of hope and love. It showed them that there are still good people in the world who cared about them and wanted to help them in their difficult times. It was a reminder that there is hope for a better future.

These stories remind us of the importance of kindness and generosity, and how a small act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life.

Sincerely

Now delivering food boxes in Gaza, even though bombing is underway

Dear Friend,

Such heartbreaking news from Palestine. Despite it all, our teams are delivering food boxes in this time of emergency, determined to help Palestinian families observe Ramadan, and for some, Easter, in dignity.

In Gaza, our four Palestinian NGO partners started delivering last Tuesday, a total of 1000 boxes. Ibrahim's family is one of 250 families in and around Rafah, Gaza, who received a food box from our partner, the Women Programs Center - Rafah. Due to spinal arthritis, Ibrahim can only work three hours a day as a farm worker. He doesn't make enough money for his family of 12, 6 sons and 4 daughters. His family would be starving this Ramadan if they hadn't received a food box from you! Thank you!

Rebuilding Alliance learned how to deliver food even when bombs are falling.  We learned how to do this in 2014, and then in 2021 we did it again. How terrifying it must be for children, mothers, and fathers to experience this once again.  Please know that our teams are determined to deliver the food boxes, no matter what.

In the West Bank, our two NGO partners, Holy Land Trust and the Rural Women’s Association of the South Hebron Hills, are working together to distribute 250 food boxes to families in the Masafer Yatta villages.  In addition, our partner NGO Holy Land Trust, asked if we could deliver food boxes to 100 Palestinian Christian families in the Bethlehem area who are struggling with poverty, in dire need of help.

So, in total, with your support and many more, the Emergency Food program will provide1350 Muslim and Christian families in Gaza, Masafer Yatta, and around Bethlehem with two weeks of nutritious food supplies.

Thank you — we’re getting close to halfway. If you can, please share this story and ask your friends and family to ask them to give now too.

Also, if you know someone who would like to sponsor the project, or if you have suggestions or questions, please email me at contact@RebuildingAlliance.org.

Sincerely,

Maria Syed

Our partner NGOs are busy packing food boxes

Ramadan Kareem

Dear Friend,

My apology for the last message ... somehow the images became huge.

Thank you for contributing to the Ramadan Blessings: Palestine Emergency Food campaign! We’re honored to have you in our circle of supporters. So far the campaign has raised just over 21% of our goal of $118,745 to deliver 1250 boxes of food.

Here's the latest on the campaign. Each of our NGO partners in Gaza and Masafer Yatta have selected the best bid and are now working with the vendors to fill the food boxes. Our photographer Muhammad Mansur visited the Women Programs Center team at the warehouse in Rafah, Gaza.

Twenty years ago, Kareem was the oldest child in the family the late Rachel Corrie stood to protect. He's the project lead for the Women Program's Center - Rafah, Gaza.

Families are visiting our partner NGOs daily and asking about food boxes. Thanks to your donation, deliveries will start early next week.

Thank you for sharing your blessings with Palestinian families. Now that you’re part of Team Rebuilding Alliance, please help us spread the word and ask your family and friends to contribute too.

Together, we will feed 1250 Palestinian families in need in Gaza and Masafer Yatta!

Until next time.
