The Forgotten People

The United Nations calls them “the world’s most persecuted minority.” They live under a never-ending struggle to survive; humans with no human rights:

For decades, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims have lived in Myanmar. Facing a mounting humanitarian disaster, they are victims of persecution, violence, human trafficking, and a growing part of the 10 million refugees around the world who are told they do not belong anywhere. 

They are fast-becoming one of the world’s forgotten people. With hundreds of thousands of them in camps or stranded at sea with no access to the fundamental needs to sustain their lives, the ethnic Rohingya are in desperate need of emergency food, shelter, medical aid, and YOUR help.

Relief for Rohingya

This year, United Muslim Relief JHU is raising awareness and fundraising for the Rohingya Muslims. All proceeds raised will go to United Muslim Relief’s operations, which provide food, water, clothing, and shelter to alleviate the Rohingya’s suffering.

In Myanmar, villages are being burned to the ground. Innocent children are being beheaded and vulnerable women are being violated.

More than 123,000 Rohingya refugees have fled to the border of Bangladesh with barely the clothes on their backs. They are joining the 500,000 Rohingya who have been displaced by what some world leaders are calling ‘genocide and ethnic cleansing.’
