We need your help to renovate the Islamic Centre and Masjid serving the town of Dorchester.

This is an opportunity for you to provide a Sadaqah Jariyah to the renovation of a mosque and Islamic Centre that is serving the entire town of Dorchester.

Over the past twenty years we have had an increasing Muslim population with many young Muslim families moving to live here.  This old building serving this population is in need of urgent renovation and repair work to keep it safe and allow us to provide all the Islamic activities we hope to In Shaa Allah make available to our Muslim community.

The current activities and aims which will continue to be made possible by your generous contribution:

1. Daily congregational prayers

2. Jumu'ah prayers

3. Taraweeh Salaah, Ramadan Iftar gatherings and Eid Salaah and celebrations

4.  Regular Qur'an, Tajweed and Arabic lessons for children

      - Using the children's classes to guide and teach the younger generation and community the correct tenets of Islam, in order to be peaceful, law abiding citizens and useful members of the community

     - Using the children's classes to teach the true values of Islam which promote peace and kindness to all, and  preventing any form of extremism

5. Having weekly ladies Qur'an, Tajweed and Arabic classes

6. Integration with the local West Dorset community

7. Holding interfaith meetings with people of different religions to promote peaceful relationships with the wider community

8. Providing support to those members of the Muslim community with special needs and difficult circumstances

9. Having a social centre for the children where they can meet after school and engage in sports and leisure activities

10. Having helped launch the BME (Black Ethnic Minority) Unity & Vision, our members actively support and facilitate meetings

11. Maintaining close links with South West Multicultural Networks

Urgent renovatation and repair work needed.

Every small donation counts. Together with your generous donations from all over the world In Shaa Allah, we hope to be able to raise  £100,000 to undertake the following urgently needed renovation and repair work to keep our building safe so we can continue offering the Islamic activities to our Muslim community in Dorchester:

1. Replacement of the entire leaking roof

2. Replacement of all broken windows with double glazed windows

3. Provision of wudhu facilities for men and women

4. Fully equipped meeting rooms to hold Islamic presentations to the local population

5. Fully equipped classrooms to hold Arabic and Qur'an lessons for children and adults

6. Provision of a room for the Imam

The Benefits of paying sadaqah to a masjid.

1. "When a man passes away, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three:  Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or  a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)" Narrated by Abu Hurairah, Sahih Muslim

2. Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “ Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”

3.  Surah Al Baqarah, ayat 261, Allah SWT says: "The similitude of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like the similitude of a grain of corn which grows seven ears, in each ear a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies it further for whomsoever He pleases and Allah is Bountiful, All-Knowing."
