I think a major turning point for me when it comes to people facing hunger was when I read this hadith from Imam Ali (a):

"Allah, the Glorified, has fixed the livelihood of the destitute in the wealth of the rich.

Consequently, whenever a destitute remains hungry it is because some rich person has denied (him his share).

Allah, the Sublime, will question them about it." 

Nahj al-Balagha Hadith n. 328

I've always felt sad about the state of the world and in particular the deep levels of poverty and hunger faced by so many people. But, the reality is I am part of the problem too. If the livelihood of a destitute person is tied up in our wealth, then surely we need to what we can NOW to support them. 

NRF is working harder than ever this Ramadan to support those in real need who don't have the luxury of suhoor and iftar.

This Ramadhan I am once again raising money for Noor Relief Fund's Ramadan Aid Appeal.

Your kind donations will provide food baskets to families in dire need in East Africa, Iraq, Pakistan and Yemen.
