UPDATE (04/12): All Praise is due to Allah. We have secured a location and in sha Allah will be posting before and after pictures so everyone can follow the progress. The upgrades done in the center were done by the generosity of other brothers in the area. Let's reach our goal for the first few months and maybe even complete the whole year's rent! May Allah Reward you all!

Ibn Maajah (738) narrated from Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.
In Northern Virginia, we have seen the Muslim community grow and the masajid grow with it. For Reston, however, we have yet to reach that point, with the closest masjid being 20 minutes away (without bad traffic).
Not only will this benefit the families around the area, but especially ease the working Muslim, who -- in an area filled with tech & Fortune 500 headquarters and the busy Reston Town Center -- are left out of being able to have their own space. As practicing Muslims, we need a space to offer our daily prayers with calm, ease, and serenity -- not rushing 20 minutes to catch the end of a khutbah.
Alhamdulillah, from the grace of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, we have been able to find a spot, right across from Reston Town Center. The ones who control the lease are offering us $2,000 per month for the rent, water, and gas. This is a great offer, walhamdulillah, and we plan on taking it.
That being said, to get us started with rent for the first couple of months, we set a goal to raise $10,000. After the masjid is up and running, we anticipate that, with the will of Allah, it will become self-sustaining with generous donations. We are also looking for monthly donors who can make a commitment, whether it be $10 or $100. If you can do so, please reach out via the e-mail on this page. In Shaa Allah, the Muslim Reston community, including women and families, will now have a space to call their own.
