The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three:

1. Sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity, e.g. endowment)
2. Beneficial knowledge (which he has left behind and others benefit from it)
3. A righteous child who will pray for him.”

(Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no 1376; he said this is a saheeh hasan hadeeth)

Sadly, the grandfather of our dear friend Maya and the grandmother of our dear friend Shah have sadly departed this temporary world.

As a means to benefit them both and to bring some sort of comfort to the families of both deceased, we have decided to raise funds to build a water well each in both of their names which will provide clean, safe drinking water to families in Uganda.  

‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]
