The Badou Jack Foundation, founded by World Boxing Champion and Global Philanthropist Badou Jack, has continued its mission of "Giving Children a Fighting Chance in Life." 

Our next venture, partnered with one of the most influential and aspiring Muslims today, is targeted to serve the community of Puerto Rico by building a mosque and dawah center.

Brother Mutah "Napoleon" Beale, a former member of Tupac Shakur's Outlawz, left the streets of Los Angeles and the hip-hop world in 2002 to fully embrace the religion of Islam and relocated his family to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Since then, he has been doing his best to promote the Deen, establish a presence to influence Westerners to the religion, and continue to help communities across the globe where he can. 

This noble endeavor is a tribute to the memory of Mutah's beloved parents and his cherished brother, Kamil. Born into a family where Islam was embraced with love and devotion, Mutah tragically witnessed his parents' murder in his home at only three years old. His mother, of Puerto Rican descent, bravely shielded Mutah and his brothers from harm, ultimately sacrificing her life in the process.

In the spirit of his inspirational story, the Badou Jack Foundation is proudly taking this initiative to promote and spearhead the fundraising of the mosque and dawah center, where it will stand not only as a testament to the faith and resilience of Mutah's family but also as a beacon of hope for the entire community.

WHY A MASJID AND WHY NOW

1. Growing Muslim Community:

Population Increase: Puerto Rico has witnessed a notable surge in its Muslim population in recent years. Factors such as immigration, conversions, and Growing families have contributed to this growth.

2. Spiritual Necessity:

Fulfilling Spiritual Needs: A masjid provides a central space for Muslims to fulfill their spiritual obligations, including daily prayers, Friday congregational prayers (Jumu'ah), and special religious events. Strengthening Faith: Having a dedicated place of worship allows Muslims in Puerto Rico to strengthen their faith and deepen their connection with their religious beliefs.

3. Educational Opportunities:

Promoting Learning: A dawah center affiliated with the masjid can offer educational programs on various aspects of Islam, including theology, jurisprudence, Arabic language, and Quranic studies. Benefiting the Community: These educational initiatives benefit both Muslims seeking to enhance their understanding of Islam and non-Muslims interested in learning about the religion.

4. Community Outreach:

Social Services: A masjid and dawah center can serve as a platform for community outreach and social services, including assistance to the needy, charitable activities, and  dialogues. Promoting Understanding: Engaging in outreach programs fosters greater understanding and cooperation among people of different faiths, contributing to a more inclusive and harmonious society.

5. Cultural Integration :

Facilitating Integration: Establishing a visible presence through a masjid and dawah center helps facilitate the integration of Muslims into Puerto Rican society.Expressing Identity: It provides Muslims with a space to express their religious identity while also promoting greater understanding and acceptance among the broader community.

1. Provide a concise breakdown of the use of funds

Answer: All funds collected will go solely on the purchase and renovation of a building in Puerto Rico for the purpose of a masjid/Islamic center.

2. Clarify whether the land that the masjid and dawah centre will be built on has already been acquired?

Answer: We will not be purchasing lot/land for this purpose. It is more feasible to purchase a standing structure and renovate it into a masjid. 

In summary, the establishment of a masjid and dawah center in Puerto Rico is not only a response to the practical needs of a growing Muslim population but also a reflection of the values of diversity, inclusivity, and religious freedom embraced by Puerto Rican society.
