On April 6th, 2025, our dear brother Mahad Elmi tragically passed away at just 20 years old, due to an act of injustice. In his memory, we are coming together to support positive change through this charitable effort

As we ponder over his life, we are reminded of a bright individual with exceptional character who constantly brought joy to his family and friends.

As we grieve the tragic passing of our brother Mahad, we are seeking to establish a Sadaqah Jariyyah (ongoing charity) in his name. The Sadaqah Jariyyah funds will be going to the new Mosque being built in Half Moon Bay (South Barrhaven) area of Ottawa. 

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."
