“The son of Adam does not do any deed on the Day of Sacrifice that is dearer to Allah than shedding blood (sacrifice). It will come on the Day of Resurrection with its horns and cloven hoofs and hair. Its blood is accepted by Allah before it reaches the ground. So, be content when you do it.”

Hunger in Nepal

Nepal currently ranks 69th out of 121 countries in the 2023 Global Hunger Index, indicating that its population is on the borderline between moderate and serious levels of hunger. One of the main causes for it is the widespread poverty, as much as 20% of people live below the poverty line.

Approximately 5 million Nepalese are categorised as undernourished across the country.

Providing Fresh Meat
Due to the high cost of meat, impoverished Nepalese individuals rarely have the opportunity to include it in their diet. Their meals primarily consist of beans and rice, lacking the essential nutrients that meat provides. However, during Eid Ul Adha, they have a chance to partake in fresh meat through the Qurbani project.

Iltizam's Experience in Nepal.

In 2019, Iltizam initiated its efforts to assist the people of Nepal. Our first project in Nepal was the Qurbani campaign. Since then, we have undertaken several meaningful projects in the country to uplift and support the local communities. Some notable endeavors include:

• Tube Well Project: Recently, we successfully completed the construction of our 180th tube well, a vital initiative aimed at providing clean and safe water to Nepalese communities. To learn more about this project, please visit here.
• Winter Aid Project: Our Winter Aid Project was designed to address the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals during the harsh winter months. By providing essential resources and support, we strive to alleviate their suffering.
• Skill Improvement Project: Iltizam has initiated a sewing class to empower underprivileged Nepalese women with valuable skills. Through this project, we aim to enhance their prospects for a better livelihood and a brighter future. 
• Food Aid Nepal: Recognizing the urgent need for food security, Iltizam has been actively providing food aid to those in need throughout Nepal. Our efforts seek to ensure that vulnerable communities have access to nutritious meals, combating hunger and malnutrition. Check it out here.
• Sadaqah Ramadan Nepal: During the blessed month of Ramadan, Iltizam facilitates the distribution of Sadaqah (charitable donations) in Nepal, reaching out to those who require support the most.
