SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION AND FURNISHING OF FIRST AKURE MUSLIMS CRECHE AND ORPHANAGE

Akure is a city in south-western Nigeria and is the largest city and capital of Ondo State. The Muslims constitute about 13% of the total population.

Akure indigents and others practicing Islam are facing the challenge of lack of facilities to bring children especially orphans properly according to Islamic teachings. The lack of infrastructure and facilities to nurture Muslim children appropriately in Islamic way, results in Muslim children being nurtured and socialized in a non-islamic environment. This is resulting in inability to catch them young due to lack of facilities to lay solid foundation for Islamic faith amongst the future generation of Muslims. 

"There are instances in which orphans taken to motherless babies homes were given non-Muslim names on admission"

The Akure Community Muslim Women with the support of Akure Central Mosque Muslim Community is making effort to establish facilities where our children and wards can be nurtured and socialized into Islamic teachings and inculcate in them proper education that would enable them to become responsible Muslims and productive members of society.

The construction of the facility (creche and orphanage) which foundation has been laid and other preparatory activities conducted with funds raised from “fisebililahi” from individuals, friends and families, now requires the support of well-meaning individuals and institutions to actualize the purpose of the project.

"The Islamic creches and orphanage will afford the children to be taught proper etiquette of Islamic conduct, enables the carers/nannies follow the Islamic rulings on how to care for children. Muslim carers/nannies will teach the children the difference between right and wrong according to Islamic guidelines and will teach them how to play with other children respectfully.

In addition, the children will learn about daily prayers and conduct of prayers in timely manner; they will learn how to use words that glorify Allah, which remind the children to remember their Creator. The children will be given the care, love, affection, and attention they deserve, and needs to experience. This will allow them healthy growth emotionally, intellectually and spiritually."

The estimated cost to see the project to fruition is N55,630,000.00 (Fifty-Five Million, Six Hundred and Thirty Thousand Naira) only amounting to US$155,000 (One Hundred and Fifty-Five Thousand US Dollars).

The expected outcomes of the project amongst others include:

1. Provide care and nurture Muslim children the Islamic way when they are outside the home front.
2. Teach and inculcate Islamic teachings and behavior to Muslim children starting early in life.
3. Cater for the orphans/destitute and contribute to their growths and development to become productive members of the society.
4. Prevent conversion of Muslim Children and orphans to other faith or religion
5. Opportunity to increase the number of productive Muslim faithfuls in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria.
6. Boost economic status of Muslims through employment and job creation in execution of the project.
