​Imagine if every man, woman and child could have the entire Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ in their hearts, and use a song to not only retain knowledge of his blessed life and connect to him through bond of love, but also share this song with others to draw their heart towards guidance? This is the Seerah Song.

The first-ever 15-chapter Seerah Song has been recorded in a beautiful 26-minute rendition by the world-famous nasheed artist, Zain Bhikha, who generously donated his voice to the cause. Now, WE NEED YOUR HELP to fund a universe of resources based on this amazing epic poem: an interactive website, a range of books for both adults and kids, an Islamic school teacher's guide and curriculum, an animated online video for children to learn the Seerah, an e-Learning course at different levels, and more! We live in a world where there are so many misconceptions about our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him). Many have tried to mislead others with false caricatures and disinformation, and this affects our children worst of all. There are epic poems in many languages about our Prophet ﷺ , but nothing original in everyday English!

Since Shaykh Abdullah Misra embraced Islam and travelled to Jordan and Yemen to acquire Islamic knowledge, he heard many Arabic poems about the Prophet, including the famous Qasida Burda which would melt the hearts of those listening to it. However, he wondered why there was nothing original in English that people could sing together that contained the knowledge of the Prophetic biography (Seerah) and qualities (Shamaa'il). So, he decided to write it!

The Making of the First-Ever Complete Seerah Poem in English!

Working with a melody he had once heard in Yemen, Shaykh Abdullah Misra started writing the Seerah Song. During a period of intense loneliness during his studies, he found that recounting the life of the last Prophet ﷺ brought strength and comfort to him, and could do so for many others as well. 

The Seerah Song would eventually comprise of:

• 15 concise chapters, starting from Pre-Islamic times, to the Noble Birth, to the Meccan and Medinan periods and beyond to the Present Day and the Hereafter as well! It ends with a beautiful section of praise (al-madh). It is one of the very few poems in ANY language, including Arabic, to incorporate the Past, Present & Future roles of the Prophet ﷺ!​

• 151 lines of poetry in rhyming couplets on exact poetic meter.

• Covers all the most important prophetic events that a Muslim would need to know, all based on the Quran and authentic Hadith.

• Over 100 footnoted references that cite Qur'anic verses, authentic Hadiths, and lines from famous poems, such as Qasida Burda.

• Each word and line represent numerous teaching points of knowledge, behind which are lessons on Aqida, Seerah and other Islamic sciences. The commentary and teacher's curriculum guide will expand on these to enable the Song to become an entire course.

The Seerah Song has already been memorized by many children, performed as a play, sung in family and public gatherings, and taught as a course to youth and adults. It can be used to train Islamic Halaqa teachers through the Ijaaza system, as well as a Da'wah tool. The very first student of the Seerah Song was a non-Muslim academic who embraced Islam mid-way through the course after falling in love with the Prophet ﷺ

Now, it was time to find the right person to *sing* the Seerah Song professionally: someone with talent, a beautiful voice, experience in the field of serving Islam, and most importantly, a deep love for the Messenger ﷺ...

Enter Zain Bhikha: a Pioneer of English Nasheed

To sing and produce the Seerah Song, we have been fortunate to have worked with one of the most famous singer/songwriters in the industry: Zain Bhikha. Zain needs no introduction, as he is a pioneer when it comes to English nasheed. Zain has done more than lend his voice - he has created a song that is truly fit for the purpose - and we cannot wait to share this with you! The Seerah Song is a 26-minute masterpiece, a single track the size of an entire album, and a combination of 280 tracks of vocals, harmonies and chorus. It includes a professional background vocalist, harmonies from the nasheed group Muhabbat, various types of live percussion from Malaysia, the adhan by Qari Ziyad Patel, and finally, the voices of Zain's nieces, Shaykh Abdullah Misra himself and his daughters, and other children, all blended into the chorus as the momentum builds throughout the song! This too, done long-distance over 6 months!

The song will be gradually unfolded chapter by chapter, until it will be fully released on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, 1442 (2021), Insha’Allah.

A Universe of Seerah Resources

Aside from the lyrics of the Seerah Song and the 26-minute Song recording, we are creating a universe of resources to provide people of all ages with an easily accessible reference point for all things Seerah. There are over 40 pages of Arabic footnotes and references for this song - which we aim to translate and make available through a handy Book publication along with the Lyrics. A project manager, translator and assistant will be employed for this.

When the Song releases on Eid al-Fitr 2021 insha Allah, there will be a lyric video available on Youtube, while the Song will be on sale on all music downloading platforms. Thanks to the generous act of Zain Bhikha, all proceeds will go to the Seerah Song project! May Allah reward Him immensely!

We have also started on the Illustrated Children's Book in order to make the Seerah Song visually accessible and memorable to young people. Combined with the Song, this high-quality Book will be illustrated by Ustadha Aisha Changezi, a renowned and talented multi-disciplinary artist who weaves spirituality into her art. Each illustration will reflect deep spiritual meanings flowing from the Seerah events taught on the page while respectfully avoiding direct depiction of Islam's most revered personalities.  

An e-learning platform and online Institute to teach the Seerah Song has already been initiated with the donation of a Thinkific package to ensure courses teaching the Seerah are designed for different ages and levels of learning. All proceeds from this will feed back to the Seerah Song project as well. The hiring of course designers and teaching assistants will be required, while courses will be taught by Shaykh Abdullah Misra and other qualified teachers.

A teacher's guide highlighting the various lessons and points of knowledge is the next stage, alongside a companion Commentary for those wanting to independently explore the meanings of the Seerah Song in a simple and relatable explanation. An Islamic school/maktab/homeschool curriculum can also be designed to ensure the proper implementation of these teachings in a structured manner for classrooms across the world.

Finally, with all of the cartoons and entertainment watched by children in our times, an Animated Video of the Seerah Song is a long-term stretch goal, as well as an a Mobile Application acting as a Seerah knowledge repository in the future insha Allah.
