Establishing sustainability projects in hard to reach communities is at the heart of Salam Charity’s work. Deeply affected by war, poverty and ongoing political unrest, for many communities improving their daily lives in a sustainable manner is out of reach. 

We are dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities around the world with projects that are long-term, achievable and provide them with the tools to bring themselves out of poverty. 

What are we doing to support them..

By taking part in the Marrakech Marathon, you’ll be helping us initiate sustainable livelihood projects to help the poorest achieve these aims. One of our flagship projects is our micro-gardening course for women. Here, women are taught the skills and knowledge to enable them to cultivate and sell crops themselves, making them self-sufficient. 

Other key projects you can support include our unique TukTuk and Bakery projects in Lebanon. 

We purchase a number of TukTuks which are rented to individuals, providing them with a stable, higher-than-average income. After one year, they become full owners of the TukTuks and we use the rental income received to purchase another TukTuk. 

Our bakery also makes and distributes 700 packs of bread a day, enough to feed a few hundred people. We employ local people, so not only are we providing a stable food item that has in recent times become unaffordable for many, but are creating jobs in the local community. 

With your support and generous donations, we can continue to help support beneficiaries around the world to become more self-sufficient, and give them the opportunities and tools to better their lives and improve their prospects of a secure economic future.
