Journey # 1: 2002

In 2002, the Islaamic Center of Mastic-Shirley (ICMS) embarked on its journey, welcoming a growing community in eastern Long Island, NY, renting from a humble abode at 503 William Floyd Parkway. As the community thrived and purchased this property for $212,000 in 2016, space limitations hindered ICMS from obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy due to inadequate parking.

Journey # 2: 2019

In May 2019, a divine opportunity arose: the chance to acquire a 70,000 sqft. (1.6 Acre) vacant lot adjacent to the existing Masjid on 510 William Floyd Pkwy. With a $350,000 goal set before the June 12th, 2019 deadline, the community united, reaching the target within weeks through collective unity and generosity.

Journey # 3: 2021

Fast forward to November 2021, another opportunity presented itself with the listing of 516 William Floyd Parkway, the final residential lot on the block facing the Parkway. Seizing the moment, ICMS secured the property for $375,000, expanding its footprint to an impressive 87,500 sqft. (2 Acres). This strategic acquisition not only provides additional parking but also enhances the usable area of the total lot.

Journey # 4: 2024

Now, the time has come to materialize our vision: constructing a state-of-the-art center on this vast property. This dream facility will encompass a place of worship, spaces for afterschool classes and programming, an official NBA size basketball court, burial arrangements, and numerous opportunities for community and social outreach.
