Lend Your Hand in Compassion: Support the Orphan Fund
 

In the words of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this," putting his index and middle fingers together. 

Inspired by this profound hadith, we invite you to join hands with us in a mission of mercy to nurture the lives of 1000 orphans across the heartlands of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, Türkiye, and Lebanon, including displaced Palestinian and Syrian children whose worlds have been darkened by conflict and loss.

In collaboration with Shaykh Yasir Qadhi, we at READ Foundation are delighted to present our Orphan Fund - a collective pool of donations which focuses on supporting orphans living in impoverished situations. Although the orphan fund is not an orphan sponsorship, we aim to expand our reach and support more orphans across various countries through this project. The Orphan Fund will allow us to support the broader needs of orphan children and those with additional costs or needs. This pool of donations will enable us to expand our reach and enhance our ability to uplift more orphans out of the cycle of poverty.

Pakistan & Bangladesh

Lands rich in culture and amazing talents, yet many children are disadvantaged by poverty. 

In Pakistan, there are around 4.6 million children living as orphans, with around 4.8 million living in Bangladesh. 

This is mostly caused by natural deaths; however, climate-related disasters have also orphaned many children living in this part of the world.

Sadly, many of these orphans live in poverty, without access to the basic necessities of life, such as food security, access to clean water, or proper living conditions. Due to their unfortunate conditions, many of these children disregard education and go out to work instead. This may be because of the inability to afford an education or the imminent need to earn money to survive each day as it comes. Not only does this rob these children of an education and the chance to break free from poverty, but it also exposes them to child labour, abuse and exploitation.

Your donations can turn the tide for these vulnerable children, offering them sustenance,  education and the chance to dream and achieve.

Yemen

Amidst one of the world’s most dire humanitarian crises, our efforts can bring solace and support to the youngest victims, ensuring their right to food and learning.

After a decade of conflict, high levels of poverty and food insecurity have gripped the nation. Reports state that around 80% of the population is in dire need of acute humanitarian aid, 12 million of whom are children. 

Deprived of basic necessities and forced to live a life of poverty, their biggest weapon is an education.

Your generosity will allow us to provide orphan children living in Yemen with daily nutritious meals, proper learning facilities, and the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty. 

Our efforts will allow us to encourage more children to continue their learning and equip themselves with the skills to prosper instead of resorting to working, exposing them to child labour and exploitation. 

Türkiye & Lebanon

After more than a decade of conflict, Türkiye and Lebanon host the largest populations of war-fleeing refugees. Türkiye is home to countless Syrian refugees, with Lebanon hosting both Syrian and Palestinian refugees. 

Those most affected are the children, with more than 20 million living in conflict zones being out of school. 

Sadly, educating refugee children in conflict zones is one of the most challenging and underpromoted needs to date. Statistics show that more than half of refugee children living in Lebanon between the ages of 3 -18 are out of school, with some having never attended. This reality will have a negative impact on their future, seriously disadvantaging their chances of ever making it out of the refugee camps and out of poverty in general.

Through your support, our Orphan Fund can help orphan children living in refugee camps whose futures otherwise seemed bleak. With these funds, we can enhance our impact and bring quality education to the camps. This will open the door of opportunity for these vulnerable children, allowing them to dream and achieve independence.

This campaign is not about singular acts of charity but a collective lifeline rooted in the principles of our faith.

The Orphan Fund is a testament to our unity and commitment to collectively uplift the innocent. Unlike our individual orphan sponsorship initiative, the Orphan Fund is a collective effort which aims to create a pool of donations ready to empower our orphan-related projects around the world. 

By collectively contributing to the Orphan Fund, we can all share in empowering orphan children from impoverished backgrounds. Together, we can equip these orphan children with the tools they need to stand on their own two feet, supporting themselves, their families, and the communities around them.
