The Orphan Sponsorship Program is an initiative by Islamic Relief in which funds are raised to economically support an orphaned child under the age of 18. It is a personal and profound initiative as you become the child’s second parent, ensuring they have a chance to succeed despite the toughest of odds. 

Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this," putting his index and middle fingers together.- Sahih al-Bukhari 6005

The IR reaches over 26 countries across the globe and is currently supporting over 63 000 children annually.

This year, Islamic Relief uOttawa will be launching Ottawa's FIRST OSP! Participants will be creating their very own mini-campaigns to raise $600 for a yearly sponsorship by Eid 2023!
 

These can be creative challenge-based initiatives or traditional fundraisers; whatever you choose! At the end of the challenge, you will receive updates on the child and their description.
